3 years Bsc(Hons) Degree Equivalency in Canada

Hello everyone,

Currently I am studying in Nepal in Islington College. This college is affiliated with London Metropolitan University and provides the three-year bachelor's degree from London Met upon completion of this degree.

My main concern is since Canada doesn't accept 3-year bachelor's degree for studying masters in Canada, can this degree be equivalent to 4 years in Canada. Because when I researched a bit the credit system is different in UK and Canada so I was also told that 3 years in UK will be equivalent to 4 years in Canada.

I'm very confused and scared at this point. I still have one year to complete my bachelor's degree. After completing I will be getting 360 hours credit. I haven't yet applied for WES as; my degree isn't yet completed.

Here my main question is, is my three years UK degree equivalent to 4 years in Canada. I have been so worried since couple of weeks and couldn't researched much as my exams are coming up.



Any help from you will mean a lot. Has this ever been faced by anyone before, if yes will the 3 years' work in Canada as well?

Please suggest me on what should I do. I need help.

You will not know until you apply for ECA. I am not sure why a 3 year degree would be equivalent to a 4 year degree.

Actually, on sites of colleges I can see that on international equivalency section under requirements, for UK it says BSc (Hons) and when I tried to compare for other countries it says 4 years of bachelor but does not specify year for UK degree, so this has been confusing for me. I am aware that WES or ECA is required in some cases but do you know about equivalency of 3 years honors degree from UK to study in Canada without WES or ECA equivalency in general.

So contact the Canadian school you want to do your masters in and ask. As for ECA, you will not know until received.
