Hi,
I am working in Quebec on a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) which is supposed to expire in June.
I have already applied for my PR last year under the Quebec Skilled Worker program, I have the confirmation of the receipt of my application and my file number from CIC, but still waiting for the PR process to complete.

I had a couple of questions, if anyone can help me.

1. As I understand, since I already had the PGWP for three years, I can't apply for it's extension. But since I have a CSQ, I wouldn't be required to get an LMIA. So I'll have to apply for an LMIA-exempt Employer specific Work Permit. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong here.

2. I plan on traveling outside of Canada in April for a week. My current Work Permit and my Temporary Resident Visa(I need it to re-enter Canada) will both be valid by the time I return back to Canada. If I apply for a new Work Permit before traveling, would that create any problems for me, since I would have an application in process while I leave Canada.
Also my current Work Permit will be valid for less than two months when I re-enter Canada, can that be a reason for the border agent to refuse entry to me?

If anyone can help me out, I'll be very grateful!

#1. Yes, you are right. You are eligible for LMIA-exempt closed work permit. However, due to recent changes, your employer will also have to pay the $230 employer compliance fee and submit the job offer form directly to CIC before you can apply for the work permit.

#2. I don't think it will be an issue as long as you have a valid TRV and work permit when you return. Also, if you are currently working, this will be a huge plus for you as you can easily convince the visa officer that you are coming back to resume your work with your current employer

Thank you abrarmohsin for the response, I appreciate it.

Yes I am getting the form submitted by my employer .
Yes, I am actually employed full time, sounds good, now I'll be traveling without worrying too much about not being able to enter back into Canada.

Thanks!
