I just got my 2nd refusal. IRCC added a new reason this time. " Your current employment situation does not show that you are financially established in your country of residence.". This point is weird since they didn't mention this in my first application, and my employment situation has stayed the same.
I have been self-employed since 2019. I have clients from all over the world. My employment status did not change from my 1st application and 2nd application. Every year, I have been making more money from previous years.
After the refusal of 1st application, In my 2nd application, I provided a list of ties and reasons to return to Singapore, but they added a new reason this time.
I'm Singaporean, my wife and child are not coming with me. My wife is also in the midst of applying for Singapore citizenship.
One of the most strongest tie is that in Singapore, we contribute to our CPF fund, which we can only spend in Singapore to buy a house, medical purpose, and for retirement. We can't withdraw it. If I moved to Canada, I would have no access to that fund in Canada. https://www.mom.gov.sg/employment-practices/central-provident-fund/what-is-cpf
Unlike CPF, all other "ties" like job, house and etc can be sold or you can resign easily.
One of my main client (US client) is also subsidizing USD10k for my study and have said it will lead to more work for me (provided a letter). This was also the reason I decided to go for further study overseas in canada.
The strange thing is seeing student with no ties (other than parents) and are not financially established in home country; students with clear permanent immigration intent are getting visa approved, but people who don't have immigration intent are getting refused.
Timeline and refusal reasons below in signature.
