Hi, im new to this forum. I was looking through the topics but didn't find one about 2nd medical. My husband who lives in Morocco went for an interview in Rabat on the 28th of september. Got in there, was called to the booth, answered couple of question (name, adress, phone number), then lady took the second pile of new pics, convos and more with her, came back said to him " congratulations, your approved without interview". She said he had to redo his medical. How long does it take to receive the result for the second time. I think paris got them on the 4th of october. I was hoping to be with my husband for halloween.

Thank you
Josee

Congratulations! I just sponsored my husband from Morocco as well. For Rabat, it normally takes 2 to 4 weeks from the date the medical was done for the results to be received at the visa office. Your husband is also undergoing security checks as well. There is no "set" time for security clearance to be finished but it seems to average between 3 to 8 weeks. My husband's took less than 2 weeks for the security clearance and 3 for the medical. The security clearance was the ONLY thing that happened quickly on our file.

Hope that helps.

did you do a 2nd medical? Your stats shows interview then visa. I thought they did the security clearance before the interview. So after they say your accepted and do a security check, finds out something is wrong let say, then they say your not accepted?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I am so happy for you!!! Your wait was a long wait as I see from your stats, but now the wait is over and you and your husband are finally going to be reunited.

Thanks SadGirl! It was a LONG time but it feels great to be finished now!

joseeisma, yes my husband did a 2nd medical. But we did it as soon as the first one expired, without be asked to do it by the embassy. This was BEFORE the interview so we had a head start on that. If there is a problem with the security clearance they won't issue a visa to Canada as he would be found inadmissible for security reasons. Simple as that. But before determining that they MAY ask for more information. These checks are done by CSIS, Canadian Security Intelligence Service. Canada's version of the CIA. Immigration has nothing to do with it and no power to speed it up. They have to wait until they hear from CSIS too. If your husband's name was on an international watchlist (or a name VERY close to his) or if there is something that pops up, they could ask your husband to provide evidence to disprove any issues or to show them it is NOT him. If your husband has served in the military, been a member of a police force, or has lived 6 months in any other country, security checks take longer as they are more indepth.

You really shouldn't worry too much about that assuming you know your husband well. Like I said before, these checks (if they are routine) can take from 2 to 8 weeks or more depending on the depth. But the average for Morocco seems to be what I posted before. When did Rabat first receive your file and begin processing it?

It's coming soon. Count about 4 weeks from the date the medical was completed and expect a call. You know they only issue visa's on Wednesday's. You are probably looking at the last week of October or first week of November.

SadGirl, I hope you hear something positive VERY soon. :)

Yep, I'm everywhere! LOL! But I'm not very creative so I use the same name. Are you on the French forum as well? I don't write much on there because my French is very bad! And when I'm trying to translate some of this stuff into French, well, it just doesn't work. Oh well. Have you checked out the HUGE thread on here dedicated to Morocco? Lots of experience and stories in there.

I only paid attention to the stats thread on the French forum. It doesn't seem to offer much in the way of legal information or processing specifics. But there are more sponsorships going through Morocco so it was good to know the stats. Let me know if you have any other questions. But you're almost done.)

BTW, my husband will be landing in Montreal on November 5th. I'm meeting him there and we'll stay a night and roam around the city a little before we head to Vancouver. Hoping we don't freeze!

If a second medical is required (because the first expired), how does the applicant inform the Visa Office in charge of the case?

Toby, when my husband's medicals expired, I called up the man that conducted my husband's interview (supposedly the man in charge of our case) and told him about our situation. You can also call the visa office in charge of the case or send in a case specific enquiry.

joseeisma, my husband had to do a 2nd medical as well since his had expired closely around the time they were going to issue the Visa. He ended up re-doing the medical on April 28th and was given the Visa on July 8th (approx 2 and a half agonizing months). I think your case might be a little different in that you have already been approved.

My husband's results from the 2nd medical were sent to the embassy by the DMP's office. I don't know if this helps but his processing office was Havana (delays might be a little different here).

I hope things are worked out quickly for you both! :)
