Recently, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) posted a list of Designated Learning Institutes (DLIs) whose Covid-19 readiness plans were approved to accept international students to come to Canada.
As you may have noticed, only a few universities and colleges from Ontario are on the list.
We want to assure our students that George Brown College’s COVID International Student health and safety readiness plan has been approved by the Provincial government in Ontario, and that we
we have also received assurances that the Federal government (IRCC) will reflect this on their website and on the approved DLI list shortly.
If you are currently enrolled as a George Brown student in Canada or outside Canada, or have accepted an offer for January 2021, you are permitted to continue to study.
Students can continue to pay/accept, register, and prepare to attend our Winter 2021 semester, but should not travel to Canada until the Federal government website and the DLI list has been updated.
International students should not make any travel arrangements to Canada at this time until George Brown College is listed on the IRCC website (
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/students/approved-dli.html) and you have received communication from IRCC regarding your study permit or study permit approval.
Thank you.
International Centre,
George Brown College
