i have recently received my caips file and the bring forward date in the file is the same as the one in previous caips file i received. i made sure i apply after the bring forward date in the previous one. there is no change as far as i can compare the files accept for a ' 0 ' infront of bdec but they havent updated anything else. any idea what that means?

HI sunshy, I'm not able to answer your question, sorry, but i need to ask you one.

Did you apply using the www.caips.ca service or sent a postal mail to CHC directly?

That's normal. The bring forward date refers to the fact that your file will be under evaluation but not necessarily any action be taken. In most of the cases the background checks are initiated which is usually not marked on the CAIPS notes. The background check may take anywhere between 1 month to 2 years. During this time as much CAIPS notes you request the status will remain the same.

File BF'd is somehow useless. Mine CAIPS notes show on March 30,2010. But I got my passport stamped back to Feb 22, 2010 already. So just have all necessary documents ready as requested.

Good luck

2 years!!! wow. thats not fast track then :/ and plus i mean they havnt even put in the points yet.my status on ecas is still 'documents received'.. if they do background checks first for everybody and then find out that the applicant is not eligible..then??.. i wish they would clarify the process further

i dont know at which stage u r in right now but if security checks are on than it is most likely due to ongoing sec checks

which visa office have you applied to? as far as the feedback i have received and according to some people's comments it highly depends on your visa office. some of them regularly update while they work on your case and some do work on your case but dont bother updating it

Hi,

My case is through Singapore CHC. I think my case is not under security check because I haven't lived outside of my country more than three months yet.
