Hi every one....I am new to this forum....Can any one guide me that for each occupation out of 29 what will be the criteria...i mean they have announced that only 1000 applications will be accepted for each occupation. So i am confused that to which application they will give preferance? Either it will be first come first serve basis or the application which best fits an occupation's job description ? Can anyone help me....I will be high obliged.
Thanx

Hello!!

The applications would be processed on first come first serve basis.

Unfortunately, it will be a disadvantage to many candidates who are better than others being processed first.

Thanks

Hi,

It will be on the first come basis and if the CAP is full they will simple return the application.

Cheers

I think they will check for eligibility of the application before keeping it in the CAP list. I think it would not make sense that if 1000 ill-eligible applications made it to the CIC office then the cap limit would be reached and no applications would be valid for that particular NOC. However the question is from what day onwards they start determining eligibility and sending in AORs.

Thanks

Yup I agree Nitroxn, but I think CIO will keep taking application for all NOC, even if it initiatlly crosses 1000, but then after initial assesment would be done on first come first serve basis. Some application may get rejected during this period. And once the 1000 cap is reached all application would be returned.

FOr the question on which day forward. Currently, as you can see in this forum, 27/28 May 2010 applications are being processed. Two options, if we go with this timelines (everything else remaining constant) it will take them 2 to 3 months to start processing our application (filed after june 26). However, since rules changed drasticallly (full documents) and new NOC list, CIO may have a separate team looking into these applications.

This is my thinking..could be wrong

I agree with both of you but the point is that there would be a definite situation where an applicant with lower IELTS grade or lower work experience might be processed in the first 1000 and a better candidate might be left out because of being late.

Yes GUR2010...that will definitely happen. IELTS is just one parameter, but a candidate with better set of skills can be left out...thats why follow three important rules

1) HURRY
2) HURRY
3) HURRY

My understanding, and I have no definite confirmation of this, is that it counts towards the cap when the CIO sends it to the local visa office for processing. So, if an application doesn't make it past CIO in Sydney due to being incomplete, it doesn't count towards the cap - but once they have started considering it for process, it will count.

This then leads to questions of what happens to the applications which make it to local Visa office and then fail? Do they then reduce the cap again?

IMO the fairest way would be to "reserve" a spot for any applications that get sent to VO for processing, but then release that spot again if the application fails.

It would be very unfair for someone to make it to their VO, pay $550 per person non-refundably, only to be rejected near the end of their process because the 1000 cap got hit with candidates from faster VOs.

Ouch, all those capital letters are making my ears hurt! ;)

I am fairly sure all FSW applications after 26th June have to have proof of at least moderate proficiency in either English or French. For IELTS this means minimums of 5.5 in Speaking, Writing and Listening, and 5.0 in Reading.

If any score is below this, regardless of whether or not you have the required 67 points, they will fail your application. I think for specific professions, such as teaching, they might require higher than moderate proficiency.

I WANT TO SHOW U THAT CHART

NOC SPAEAKING LISTENING READING WRITING
O,A 8 6.5 7.5 6.5 6.5
O,A 7 6.0 6.0 6.0 6.0
O,A,B 6 5.5 5.5 5.0 5.5
B 5 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0
B 4 4.0 4.5 3.5 4.0

ON CIC WEBSITE IT IS WRITTEN THAT CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS MUST MEET THE ABOVE MENTIONED CRITERIA,,THEY CAN CHECK THAT, IS THERE OCCUPATION MEETS DEMEND OF IELTS FOR THAT OCCUPATION...BUT THEY DID NOT MENTIONED THAT FEDEARL APPLICANTS CAN ALSO CHECK IT..WHATS THIS?
NOW WILL U TELL ME THAT NOC 1221 AS IT IS UNDER NOC B SKILLS SO LESS THAN 5.5 BAND IELTS SUFFICENT FOR NOC 1221 (ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER)
BUT CAN WE OUTSIDE CANADA NOT CANADNIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS CHECK OUR IELTS ON THIS CHART
IS 4.5 BAND OK WITH NOC 1221

The Update Ministerial Instruction released on 26 June 2010 states that "In calculating the caps, applications will be considered in order of the date they are received. Applications received on the same date will be considered for processing having regard to routine office procedures."

Unless there is a separate clarification, my advise is as per "inexperienced"..HURRY! Don't assume anything!

What do you guys think about the quality of candidates entering Canada?

These kind of rules (one mistake & ur file is refused) is like you score 1 wrong, and u r failed ,,!!!!

So if a candidate is very smart, intelligent, highly qualified etc. otherwise, but not a good clerk (in filling forms, documentation, running around,,etc.) they dont need him.

I think they are also looking at the quality of the file (the other aspects like, quality of experience, qualifications etc) before coming up with silly excuse to reject the cases.

If you r not good enough, but u have done ur filing real good, they try to find reasons to reject ur case. But if you are real good, they might give u chance, maybe by sending letters for more documentation

What do you say on this?
