How do you know your eligibility passed 5 days ago? Because of the ghost update?

I believe with legalfalcon that those NA, NA2, IP2 do not tell you the real status of your application, but any update to the CIC account is a good sign that your file is moving. IP2 could mean that BGC has just started. BGC and Eligibility could also be done concurrently. “Not started” in Security in GCMS could also mean in-progress as it will be updated to “blank” when it is finished.

I went to IP2 on 20-Dec and security has always been “not started” even until 01-Feb (2nd GCMS notes). Take note, I received the PPR a month after that.
I called CIC 3 days ago. Agent told me that meds and criminality has passed and background check is in progress and she cannot see in detail about whether eligibility and security has been passed. I am in IP2 since Feb 27th, do you think BGC and Eligibility run in parallel or is there a sequence ?

@iamxty
Now it makes sense to me that why my security always shows not started. but I am a bit worried about my eligibility, which still shows under review.

I am not really sure as different cases are unique to each other. But I guess the two can be done simultaneously, or BGC could start when Eligibility is updated to “Recommended Pass” in CIO.

Did you order GCMS? Since I ordered my first set of notes last year, it became frustrating to see the status in my account because it really never tells where my application is at.

Got my gcms note yesterday, one month after requesting it. Eligibility not passed, security not started.

In reality, my eligibility has passed about 5 days ago. Got ghost update, but no PPR yet. Hopefully no SS.
Your GCMS notes do not have recent updates. They are usually generated the same day you request them and then are delivered later. Check the notes for the date the notes were generated.

Eligibility is checked at CIO and then the status of Eligibility is changed to Not Started as soon as the file moves to LVO.

No I haven't ordered, It's been 78 days since AOR and I thought I might wait until 90-100 days to order since it is average days for Ottawa office.
Hoping to by end of this month to hear from them or else I have to order the notes.
Did you find anything in your notes ? like eligibility passed?

Two Weeks ago I started SSF Security Screening Forecaster Google Spreadsheet.

Only within two weeks 184 Applicants from 25-Nationalities have entered their details and got their Predictive PPR Date.

Summary is as under:-

Total SS-Applicants in this list:184

Total Nationalities in List:25

Number of Applicants Who Got PPR: 7(3.80%)

Number of Applicants in Normal Security Screening Processing Time:148 (80.43%)

Number of Applicants Whose Processing Time is Above Average:29 (15.76%)

Number of Applicants Eligible for Filing Mandamus Case As Per SSF Recommendation:14(7.61%)

Enter your SS date and Nationality and know your approximate PPR date.

If you are still in IP2 stage and didn't receive PPR. Most probably you are in SS already. Although not hundred percent sure but there is a high probablity that long IP2 results in SS.

Irfan Khan has developed very good model. Try your luck by clicking on below link:-

I called IRCC. They said that eligibility has passed.

Did they actually say that? Cos I called few days back. only thing agent mentioned that BGC in process and there is no way she can see whether eligibility and security has been passed or not. Strange

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s what the agent said. I asked about the ghost update, and he explained eligibility had passed.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. I think SS means security screening. (Please correct me if I am wrong). And just for the information, can you please let me know what is the average time of SS?

Thanks in advance.
