No surprise for me . I was checking minister kennys tweets and i think he is concerned about people getting out of country after taking citizenship. he infact posted this link in his tweets recently.

http://www.vancouversun.com/business/2035/Douglas+Todd+Many+Hong+Kong+immigrants+return+home/8402665/story.html

The game is clearly understandable .He is doing it willingly to keep immigrants in country and giving citizenship to people who centralize their life here in canada. And targeting those who are here in canada just for citizenship acquistion.

Just because of few bad apples we are all facing consequences .

Thanks,
Pradeep.

Thank you so much for posting this.Interesting!!!

It should mean that CIC is filtering applicants for longer processing times , by pre-assuming their future intentions ,depending upon their financial condition in Canada ? People in high paying jobs.i.e. earning a six figure salary are less prone to leave Canada after getting citizenship, than those working as a grocery associate ?

Thank you for posting this article!

Though I wouldn't call those not committing fraud or breaking any laws 'bad apples'.

The vast majority who leave Canada after getting citizenship work, pay taxes or spend from their savings before getting it.

I think more skilled are likely to leave as they may be even more in demand in bigger more lucrative economies. Grocery store guy who doesn't care about anything in the world is likely to stay.

You might be right but if this is the case ,why self-employment,periods of unemployment have been a trigger factor for RQ ? In my opinion (and may be in the eyes of CIC as well,as it appears from some of their internal docs.) an unemployed/underemployed is more likely to leave Canada ,as he does not have much to loose, however there are chances that he might get a job in his profession,at somewhere else i.e. Middle East.

Just my 2 cents.

actually the things that qualify us to get RQ are not unemployment or self employment due to the CIC regulation and if they disobey their law ,so we are living in jungle where every one can anything that he likes. we should reside 3 out of 4 years and no criminal records and pass the test with language ability ,other things are unlawful and based on subjective decision of officers that even could be hidden from the eyes of jason kenney himself or he might have indirect consent

That means they should now stop giving citizenship and get lie detector test compulsory for all those apply to make sure they get the truth if they will stay in Canada or leave..I dont think even with a lie detector a human mind or thinking can be changed ..lets suppose if genuinely somebody wants to live in Canada but because of this beaurcracy is forced to change their decision or some one who gets his citizenship but his family back home convinces him to return or financial lures get the person move to some other place..you cant judge by present or tentative future plans if somebody will remain here for ever..even people who are born in Canada..do they stay here for good..the answer is not sure..

There is no law that says you cannot leave Canada after having obtained the 3 out of 4 years. If they don't like people leaving the country, they should change the law--but they should also speed up the application process.

25 months is utterly ridiculous.

The lie detector will not help here. Some people do not plan to leave, but have to leave some time for many reasons. Even Canadians by birth leave Canada for a better job or a better living...
The government just needs to start trusting people. If they do not trust newcomers, so why they keep accepting new immigrants.
