Hello,

Do all refugee claimants wait 24 months from the IRB referral date for their hearing to be scheduled as stated by IRCC?

No time to hearing is variable. Partially depends if your case has been identified for expedited processing. I would plan for it take 6-24 months. You could also end up having to appeal. It can be a very long process.

6-24 months since referral to IRB or since application received by IRCC ?

Depends on how long it is taking to get your initial admissibility hearing. Usually since referral to IRB.
I submitted my refugee application in August 6th 2020 and my application we just referred to IRB last November 2021

Things are totally different after the pandemic! My application was referred after 17 months from the submission and nothing yet!

Things startEd changing in 2018 when we had a huge influx of asylum claimants. Not unusual to wait 1-2 years for a hearing. Wait times have decreased due to decrease in asylum cases during Covid but other delays due to Covid.
