Hi,

I have been advised by the agent to apply for EE under 2173 Software Eng even though all my experience has been as a manual tester + test management. I asked him why should I not apply under 2283 but have not received a satisfactory explanation.
Can anyone comment on this situation?

Also, where can I read more about the entire EE process if one has to apply on their own.
Thanks.

In 2173 every thing is mixed .. where as 2283 is only for testing. when i ask my agent ..he suggest me make change to 2283 ..chances are there to get the ITA ...but as off now mu finger are cross :)

Did you apply under 2283 or 2173?

So once you apply under 2173, does that mean you can only apply for software eng roles in job bank / pool? Or can we also apply for jobs related to testing ?

Send your roles and responsibilities to this mail ID NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca and they will send you your correct NOC code.

Hi Satya

I'm planning to apply EE next week? but getting confused about NOC 2283 and NOC 2173. I'm manual and automation tester. Which NOC is easier to find a job in Canada ?
Thanks,

Your NOC in signature says 2174. How did you make it through through your roles and responsibilites ?

Friends:

Please don't rely fully on consultant advise. Just get the info.

Read the role and responsibilities of both 2173 & 2283 NoC.

Map the NoC that relate to your experience and decide.

Both NoC have demand. OINP needs software engineers, and testing professionals.

Sharing my experience; I opted for NoC 2173.

Could you please share your Work experience profile @david.tinku4u@live.com.Kindly help.

I know some people who are already in Canada who applied under 2173 and their roles were 100% related to testing. Have you ever heard or read that some guy has been rejected on test engineer roles who applied to 2173? If no then choose 2173 because in the Canadain yearly report it is the third most demanding occupation :)

I am a manual + automation tester and applied under 2173. If you are into test management and processes and have bachelor's four-year computer science degree then choose 2173. If you don't have the 4 years solid computer engineering degree then choose 2283.

Hello Guys,
I applied for Quebec Aug-2016 intake under NOC-2173.
I put my NOC “2173 - Software engineers and designers” when I submitted my application. But later on, I came to know that NOC “2283 - Information systems testing technicians” is more appropriate with my job responsibility.

Q1: Can I change my NOC when application is available to modify?
Q2: Will Quebec ask me question If I change my NOC later?

Bachelor: Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)
Job experience: Test Engineer, Test lead and Deputy Test Manager
Total Exp: 10 years in Software testing
