It's not a fixed timeline, but it usually takes one to two years after eligibility and receiving the pre-approval letter. However, I’ve seen some cases where it takes less than a year—it depends on your case ( family or single)?and the time it takes for background checks. I applied in July 2023 and received my letters in October 2024. It’s a long process, and we all need to be patient while waiting.everyone! I wanted to share my Canada Permanent Residency (PR) application under protected person in Canada in Ontario journey to help others track their progress. Here’s my organized timeline so far:
Submitted: November 2023
My Biometrics Request: February 2024
Spouse’s Biometrics Request: February 2025
Children’s Passport Photos Requested: February 2025
Medical: Passed
Pre-Arrival Letter: March 1, 2024
Eligibility Approved: March 7, 2024
Questions for the community:
1. AOR Missing: I *still haven’t received AOR . Has anyone else experienced this despite later updates?
2. IRCC Tracker Issue: I’ve tried tracking my application through the IRCC tracker, but it’s not showing anything. Has anyone faced this? How did you resolve it?
3. Next Steps: How long should I expect to wait for PPR/COPR after eligibility approval?
Grateful for the progress, but the wait feels puzzling! Your insights would mean a lot!

Its not gonna take one to two years for a 2023 applicant. Theyve already waited almost 2 years nowIt's not a fixed timeline, but it usually takes one to two years after eligibility and receiving the pre-approval letter.
