hey guys,
I am planning to study in Canada as a way to migrating there eventually...
I am 36, single...Will give my IELTS next month...
I have few questions -
1) Do you think it will be possible to gain entry in May 2021 to a university?
2) I am planning to do my masters in Digital Marketing, any idea how much that would cost?
3) how much is the monthly expense?
4) Any advice.. Since I am just going to begin my journey to start applying soon?
Thanks

T

1. Depends on your overall profile, previous marks, and IELTS score.
2. Tuition will probably be around $20–30,000 per year.
3. Living expenses are about $800–1,000 per month if you're very frugal.
4. Your application needs to establish that it makes sense for you to study in Canada given that you've been out of school for a while. How will a master's in digital marketing improve your job prospects back home? Why can't you study there? If they think your real intent is to migrate here permanently, they'll refuse your application for a study permit. See my guide to studying in Canada (link in signature) for further advice.

Oh Thank you.

But that is my real intent. I am sick of working for so many year. I need to relearn and take my career and life in a new direction. Is that not a good enough reason?
Also, one of family friend manages education institute in Canada and they told me it will be maximum 15 CAD for two years...

A study permit is only a temporary visa, so you need to show intent to return to your home country, and why the course is relevant to your previous experience and future job prospects. If you want to settle in Canada permanently you have to apply for permanent residence.

You're unlikely to find a master's degree for $7,500 per year. Some college diploma programs might be that cheap but most universities are expensive. You would need to do a master's at your age as Canada knows that a 36-year-old has no use for a college diploma.

Okay. Thank you so much for practical insights. Suppose I do land there with my masters and I am capable of financially supporting myself through my college fee and living in Canada.
Would it be easy to transition my visa to PR once I am there. I do a lot of freelance online jobs which provides sufficient enough to cover my lifestyle

After graduation you can get a work permit of up to three years. With at least a year of work experience in Canada (freelancing doesn't count) you can then apply for PR. So it's not automatic but the process is straightforward.

Thank you. I really appreciate your help. I am going through your website as well. It is indeed very informative. I will start my IELTS process and transfer my education records as per WES asap.
Any other advice you want to me since I had a large gap in my education?

Thanks
