In your case u can have different timeline as u r going to visit family members. Still have doubt about kids.
But I suggest go for it try atleast.

Seeing the current situation it is next to impossible to get TRV so early. Keep your travel dates atleast after 6 months.

My in laws' visitor visa is expiring in June 2021 (same as their passport). They are planning to travel here sometime next year.. do they need to apply for TRV from the scatch again.. if so, how long will it take (both me and my wife are PRs) for an application from India?

Hey there fellow Vietnamese,

Sorry one of your applications was refused.

The processing time for TRV in Vietnam just dropped from 122 days to 29 days (as of today Sep 22, 2020).

I applied a TRV for my common-law partner to travel once the ban is lifted.
