Hi Everyone, I received my CoPR. I applied as Inland spouse sponsorship from Quebec. I am on my open work permit and wondering how to change the SIN number. Do we have to do it now or after receiving PR card. In CoPR its written that you are now Permanent resident and can avail and benefit all the services with this letter. Also do we need to go to Service Canada or it will be done online.

Thank you.
I would also like to know! But just quick question, what is your timeline? Thanks

You have to update your SIN number. You can do it online or at Service Canada. I did it online, but it took forever. Someone told me that at Service Canada it was done and over within a couple of minutes. I have no idea how going in person works nowadays. I am sure you can find all the info here: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/sin/apply.html

Thank you so much. Also for the PR card do we need to fill any form or we need to send CoPR and photo?

You can do it now. You do it online at Service Canada. Upload the COPR, Passport and proof of address scans and you're good to go. It took a few days to get the new SIN by mail.

I think the instructions were to send the CoPR + photo, nothing else. But read carefully whatever says on your CoPR.

PR card (Montreal office)
App sent: 10-12-2020 / Delivered: 11-12-2020
Received: 05-03-2021
Hello,
Congrats first, did you send the photo and COPR for the first card to Montreal office only or to another offices as well? How long it takes to show an update in your linked application? Mine shows status" submitted" since 2 months, Montréal office as well?
Thanks

You only send the PR photo to the office it says to do it in your COPR. I am sure you don't need to send it anywhere else. As for linking the application, I was never able to do that for some reason. I just had to trust and wait for the card to arrive...

Is anyone still waiting for their PR card after sending the photo around April? I saw on another tread that people are getting theirs in less than a month now while mine is 3 months and counting with no updates on the portal.
