What is the bgc request? How do you know when it started or what did they request?

I just got a medical request. CSQ arrived 22nd September. Others should get it around the same time as their CSQ, because they requested a CV and summary of scientific activities from me first when my CSQ was approved.

That is such an odd request for sponsorship.... I'm glad to know they are requesting medicals !

I know! I was baffled as to why they would ask for that but after searching around, I learnt it is common in my field of PhD to request activities to make sure we weren't involved in nuclear weapon research etc. of any kind. Still surprising though! Applied for CSQ in March 6 and got it in 22nd of September. Got CV request the same day. And Medical 16th of October. Initial application was September 2019. It took a while for CSQ request.
Update - received PR card in the mail.

I'm kind of jealous. Look at my signature. Applied in July 2019 and nothing was wrong as I know of. We just received the medical examination demand...
We applied in September and just got medical as well. Seems like some applications are fast tracked. I wish they told us why.
Anyone that their BGC shows Not applicable since their application was received? Basically no ghost update due to BGC since the beginning?
Same. I assumed they would update it once we reach that stage? It also says I don't need to give biometrics for example, but I not that's not true and they will request them eventually.

After that nothing. Called ircc yesterday and they said they recieved csq on october 13th and they are reviewing it not sure what exactly that means.
Can someone guide what would be the next step? when can i expect the medical request? how long it takes to pass the eligibility and background check?

I got the medical 1 month after CSQ. It has to be on the way.
I just called and my CSQ was accepted on OCt. 20th!

The agent said the CSQ was not mailed yet and it could take up to 10 days for it to be mailed to me.

Would you please share your timeline? one more thing if you dont mind could you please tell me what exactly they do in medical? blood test? urine test? X ray? and how much the fees are?
