Do you have the number for the Vancouver office?
For Vancouver, now very likely it would take 6-8 weeks to get the landing interview letter, and a LOT of people are waiting, it may take longer than that.

And just you know, once you have DM on both side, nothing to worried about, you are on right direction.

Hi guys,

I just received the Sponsor Approval. I thought the rest of the steps will be fast.... until I read you guys' comments. :( I live in Greater Vancouver area, the office that has been contacting me is the Mississauga one. So which one will I hear the from for the next steps?

Good luck to all of us!

Yay you got your SA! From my experience, Mississauga works on the files until they decide yes or no, then it gets transferred to your local office. Mississauga will send you the DM. Since you live in Greater Vancouver, it’s going to be Vancouver that will contact you for your landing interview!

Unfortunately, I’m waiting on Vancouver too and they’re taking a really long time :( I’ve had DM since Jan 17.

Again congrats to both of you! Paid off all stress in the beginning. God bless
Thank you!

I have a quick questions, we are waiting for Landing Appointment.
If my common in law partner want to work in Canada.
Do we need to apply for Open Work Permit?
Or she can work right away and apply for SIN number?

No need since she’ll become permanent residence very soon and she can apply for SIN after landing appointment

Oh! My! God! This is killing us, no?

All,

I recieved an email today about my landing interview date and time.

In the email its mentioned that to bring:
Your sponsor, only if you are landing under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in-Canada Class.

I applied inland and at that date my wife will be in Montreal for a work trip.

I have two questions;

Do I need to take my wife as I sponsored inland.
What if she couldnt make to come?

Thanks

Which office is this for?
You need to email them with reasons why you need to reschedule, and they will reschedule. I think both applicant and sponsor have to be there (not sure), but they will reschedule for a work trip out of the city.

Your wife will be needed to attend the interview. If she cannot make it at the time, then you have to reschedule to a later date. Sponsor not showing at the appointment could be seen negatively.
