Doesn't matter if you're a citizen or PR. First you'll get an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AoR), which is an email with your application number so you can link your application online for future correspondence and tracking your status. If you've applied for an Open Work Permit (OWP), that takes about 4 months from when you send your docs. About 6 months after you submit, you'll get a request to do a medical examination. The rest of the process happens at different times for different people, but it mostly happens around 11-12 months after you apply. You'll probably get an approval for the sponsor, which means you meet the requirements for sponsoring your spouse. When the PA passes the eligibility too, they'll get an Approved in Principal, which means you meet the requirements but you have to wait for background checks and so on to go through, and finally there's a landing interview.Hello everyone,
I am a newbie in this forum. Applied for spouse sponsorship, the application was received at Sydney NS office on July 13th, 2018. Need some information from seniors like what will happen next? and how much time it will take to get the sponsorship process done? I am Permanent resident, not the citizen.
Thanks in advance.
I suggest reading the posts on this forum cuz there's already a ton of information that will probably help you with more details.
