Brief description of my(PA) scenario
We met on june 2015(in India) for the first time
She(sponsor) went back to Canada in sept2015
She came back to India in may2016 and stayed with her parents
She went back to Canada in sept2016
She came back to India in march2017 and we got married
And our parents don't know about our marriage

I read in a thread that it is a negative impact on them if parents don't know about marriage or they are against you being together
What are the chances of getting approval?

Hey

I don't really have an answer for you but hoping some of the senior members might see your post and give some advice.

You do seem to have a lot of proof, a lot of visits (traveling for her from and to India) which should count in your favour, but they do seem to assess applications in respect of the different cultures. Best advice is to follow the new checklist piece by piece and get everything 100% correct and ready as requested by CIC and give a truthful and good explanation why parents don't know of marriage.

Good luck!

Parents not knowing about you marriage could be a huge red flag, unless you have a very good explanation. One of the questions in the relationship questionarie asks if your parents and close family attended your
marriage and if not you have to give an explanation why they didn't.

when your relationship and marriage is legit you have nothing to worry about. I sent them everything and anything I could document. About 2" thick of daily Emails copies. Plane tickets, cell phone records, any and all pictures, visa bills...Also Details of wedding catering, dates times anything you can document. Just think they are trying to weed out scammers, who would be hard pressed to produce a paper trail
