I sent my aplication last week of july and have not heard anything. I checked online to but can't find anything. Is this normal?

Mine was received on July 17 and I saw the update today that my application was received. But I haven't received any email yet.
Don't worry you will get an update in a couple of weeks.
My application was also received on 17th July but haven't heard anything from them. Good thing that you can see the update now. May be I can hope for same in a week or so...

Finally today I was able to see my application as received in ecas. Hopefully I will get the Application Number in email within 2-3 days.
Passport's Front and back page photocopy for the main applicant and each dependent is required to submit along with the application.
Keep trying and check if all the information you are filling is exactly same as IMM0008 and try changing the no. of family members.
