Received reject email today at 11:30 a.m.

Also noticed that CIC changed the minimal income requirement (with NOA proof) from 2013-2015 periods to 2014-2016. This could have prevented a lot of people from rightfully apply, and awarded others for taking chances.

I want to speak to our MP and share a piece of my mind.

For those who can not figure this out as it's 2017; they just took a spot away with an ignorant entry.

That is what I think too. they should give another draw to fill up the 10,000 spots. instead just leave those spots.

Good luck for those who got selected! But for those who are not, by now it is clear that the whole process is messed up without having a fundamental check of eligibility at the first place, lot of ineligible people submitted the web form & were also received invitations, now many of those will not even apply and others will be rejected later, as a results all those spots will be wasted and snatched away from the people who have been trying for years to reunite with their family, this not only causes a huge emotional pain but it is injustice.
I believe instead of leaving our frustration on this forum & wiping our own tears alone, we should use this energy to unite, organize ourselves and hold CIC accountable, have them put a process to allocate those unutilized spots to eligible applicants instead of waiting for another year and sailing in the same boat and also have them make the process more fair/ eligibility & point based next year. There are various channels this issue can be taken up, please remember no change will happen unless we shout & get our voice heard.
Those who are serious for this cause, please stand up & raise your hands, I can start creating a group to unite ourselves and we will go from there.

Thank you for completing the online Interest to sponsor form to let us know that you are interested in applying to sponsor your parents or grandparents. As part of the government’s commitment to fairness and transparency, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) now randomly selects individuals who have shown interest in applying to sponsor their parent(s) or grandparent(s) under this program. Now that submissions for 2017 are closed, we have randomly selected 10,000 individuals who showed interest in applying to sponsor their parents or grandparents. We regret to inform you that you were not selected to apply this year.

there is no mention of re-draw to fill full 10k, incase some people do not go though with this.

Now that i think of it... i think faulty system was intended by IRCC so they would have less qualifying applications = less back logs.

My wife just got rejected and I was the co-signer (2 Kids and sponsoring my in-laws from Britain: family of 6); We have prepared since the spring of 2016. Done extensive research to know the process and made sure of eligibility.

I have to express my disgust with the overall system and all the ignorant, malicious, lack of language proficiency entries. This was a free for all gong show and was well orchestrated by the top to limited this class of immigrants. I am employed in the public sector and it's a lot about the smoke and mirrors; and there is no excuse for a haphazard process without knowing in advance that this will happen. It's not about who is governing, I understand our country cannot bare more than it can handle and the PGP does not favour the popular consensus. The previous method was unfair but it was survival of the fittest. For eligible people that entered the lottery and had their chances exponentially erased due to sabotage by others. It's wrong, plain and simple. Fairness, nothing in life is far!!! However, this was a vile experience.

I'm in. I would like to go to the media to be honest. so frustrated coz was preparing my application since october and they changed the rules just two weeks before and now I'm not selected.

I would really like to know how many people are ineligible and got selected.

I totally agree with you, count me in, I will do whatever I can to improve this broken system.

If your Member of Parliament is not a member of the current governing party; your chances of having this addressed in the parliament along with the media coverage. Opposition's dream!!
