Anybody here prefer the old system?

With the old one, there is at least something we can do to make it happen. With this lottery system, a mistake from somebody else might take away the opportunity. With current percentage 1/10, we still have about 35% possibility failed after 10 years. This is very frustrating.

Should we do something to change it?

my wife got rejected and I got accepted, now we are in a dilema because my wife parents are older and my wife miss them a lot and they cannot travel due to visa rejected while mine is still young and enjoy travelling and have luck warm intention to stay permanently since they got 10 years visa. Is it possible at all to swap tickets?

you don't have dilemma, since you applied under your name you can only make docs for your parents

Just got the email of not being selected. Sucks big! My email explains pretty clearly to try and use the super visa. With the supervisa, a parent can stay for up to 2 years during the first visit WITHOUT renewing their status. Guess what, you CAN renew the status! for up to another 2 years max = 4 years in total of stay (2 medical exams and 4 years of paid medical insurance necessary). Bam! problem solved for them. In 4 years you have the time to apply 4 times.

The difference = no free medical, no opportunity to work or to study. The parent class is clearly not their priority but they will let you bring your parents on a supervisa. Try it!

Unless you picked the wrong courier that didn't line up early enough.

If more than 10K applicants used a courier, and only 10K spots available, then not "all" would make it. Simple math.

Sure, not all.
Fedex and UPS made in 2016, and some of Purolator.
Two out of 3 couriers vs 1:9 chance this year.

Let your voice be heard , send a feedback to IRCC here:

More people will try to sponsor this year, and even more people will try to sponsor every year after, while cap will stay the same. Couriers will become less and less successful, and would start charging higher and higher fees to line up earlier. Eventually it would just be another lottery.

Again, IRCC does not want to see couriers lining up days in advance, with applicants having to pay thousands of dollars in courier fees.

Forget about going back to couriers, it will never happen.

My wife got rejected, but the sister got selected. can she sign as a co-sponsor?

No, only spouses can be co-signer. Why didn't she read the rules before applying??

If your sister doesn't qualify on her own or with her spouse, she does not qualify and has wasted a spot.
