Yes, till now I know that three of us we have similar PR expiray and we are still waiting

Mine as well expires in Feb 2017. I had observed on this thread that some of those whose card have not expited yet, they are waiting more time to get their renewal. Just an observation.
Since we have the same old card expiry, lets keep each other updated then.

My 23 years old son's timeline is;

Received PR renewal application ion May. 13 2016
Started processing on July.17 2016

This week, he received a letter from IRCC saying that

"All PR are subject to residency assessment at the time of distribution of their new pr card"
Also asking my son to visit IRCC office in person and present several documents proving residency.


My question is;
- is the letter for pickup of new pr card ? or just residency related questions and assessment ?
- is the assessment very serious?
- are there anything that my son should be prepared for besides requested documents

Tip from person who picked up new pr card would be very helpful.

"Processing times tell you how long it took Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to process applications in the past after receiving a complete application package. Processing times can vary, depending on how many applications IRCC receives. Your application may be delayed if it’s not complete.

When i called CIC, the rep said that the case processing officer is still evaluating your documents.

Could someone please advise why its taking too long to get the pr card?

Hi ND15,

1- How long have you stayed in Canada for the last 5 years? As well, how many times you have travelled during this 5 year period?
2- What is the expiry of your old/current PR Card?
3- Have you tried to send a Case Inquiry (over web)? Maybe you can get a better and a more accurate and clearer answer than the officer.

Congrats, I think replacement is totally different process compared to Renewal applications.
