Hi,

I am wondering how long does it take to process PRTD from Karachi Pakistan, I have applied for my PRTD on June 14 but have not got any response back. I have sent multiple emails and also gave cover letter for urgent basis but have not got any repose back. I have a flight in few days back to canada but I do not know what to do. Would like to know how long is the processing time and I do meet my residence dates in Canada and my PR is expired. Please let me know.

Today UPDATE (as per July 15):

So don't worry. the routine secondary review takes that much time. It will be renewed eventually and hopefully you will receive the renewed card very shortly.

Thanks ellie72

I think it will take around 3 months or more to finalize July cases, i.e. By end of September beginning of October

Hi elie72
Is there any reason for 2015 applicants have been backtracked till now whereas the 2016 applicants are processed on time?

Hi QRY2016,

It depends if the application if non routine or routine. Did they request any additional documents from you or has your application gone to secondary review? What is your timeline?
Actually, files sent mainly in 2016 are taking 3 months or little more to finalize if they are routine applications. However, processing time increases if they request additional documentation or if the file went to secondary review.

Hi elie72
Exactly, it went to a secondary review status. My timeline is: applied for PR renewal on April 2015, received a secondary review notification on Jul 2015. No request for additional documents have been received. The question is why the secondary review applications take this amount of time and goes to the bottom of the list (knowing that it needs more time to explore)?

Usually, secondary reviews can take up to one year. I think you are almost there. You should expect very soon your PR card renewed.

Hello,

My time line is :
I sent my application on May.10,2016.
ECAS shows the status 'IN PROCESSING' ('we received and started reviewing application") on July.17,2016
I received AOR email on July.17

Today, July.27, I received email from IRCC saying that they need to receive missing information(name, address, telephone #, e-ticket,
proof of payment..etc) from me via IRCC Webform to handle my application as a urgenet processing because I requested for it.

BUT, I have NOT requested for urgent processing via IRCC webform. I stayed in Canada for 750 days before application, I got advice
that I had not better request for urgent processing, otherwise, my case may go to secondary review.so, I did not request urgent processing.
In early July, I just sent a question in IRCC Webform asking how to request for urgent processing after processing started later. Looks like IRCC misunderstood what I meant.

today,I sent a message via IRCC Webform that I have NOT requested for urgent processing and I want my application to be processed normally, NOT in urgent processing.

I have a concern that my application would be set aside in IRCC's file without being processing at all forever until they receive requested information and document required for urgent processign from me.

Pls advise what I should do ? Should I call IRCC call center to correct their misunderstanding ?
Need your advice !!
