BTW I read so many people in other forums saying that is almost impossible to get a visitor visa while you wait for your PR. Well, I got my visitor visa and my visitor record, I can stay here and even go in and out of the country. I just submitted a well done application and voilà! If you are planning to do the same I already shared in another post what I did :D

Do you mind post the URL where you shared about your vistor visa experience ? I was trying to find your post but no luck.

Hello everyone!
Long time without check the forum!
I have some questions: My passport it's gonna expire on February 2016 :o and taking as a reference the average of my visa office, they would request my passport around December-February. I don't know if the would accept a passport with less of 6 months of validity...
I would suggest that you start the process soon (if you can do your first month waiting for the appointment while travelling, would be ideal), you would only lose 2-3 months on the lifespan of your passport, but ensure you have coverage once the passport has been requested for the PR visa.

Some VO do not give AOR2, the next step is once you In Process on ECAS, that is when you know your file is being worked on and then from there, hopefully a decision made and the Landing papers to follow, right now all you can do is wait, and wait and maybe wait so more lol.

Has anyone contacted CIC to ask if they have physically posted their application from Mississauga to the VO. CIC told me they still havent sent mine.

Id figure within a month, the file should be transferred to the VO, but then again if Medical results are received is shown on ECAS, does that mean it was updated my Missassauga or the VO, if its the visa office then I would assume they have received your file.

My medical is received but application hasn't been by the VO, i was approved a month ago, the CIC agent was not clear but I think they said it has not yet been posted to my VO and I was SA approved 1 month ago. Some people have AOR 2 already so I am not sure why some are posted and some not, maybe it is done by geographical location. I expect a wait for it to be processed at the VO but I expect Mississauga to post it sooner than this.

Those CIC call centre agents are the most incompetent people i have ever come across.

Optimum word is "Call Center".. Meaning hired by contract, Out sourced, Not government employees. They only have minimal information at their disposal. You call with a question, there is script for that lol. Unfortunately call back with the same question expect a different answer because it was interpreted differently and they used a different script to answer from.
Just be patient with the process as difficult as it is, you turn will come to complete.

Chris.

I left my call more confused than when I started, I was told the wrong SA approval date and my question wasn't answered. I guess it is the luck of the draw how competent the staff is who answers your call.

Hello everyone,

I just joined this forum as I am in dire need for answers.

I am a Canadian citizen and I am sponsoring my wife from Bosnia and Herzegovina where she currently resides.

On January 20, 2015, CIC received our application at the Mississauga Case Processing Centre.

On March 24, 2015, we received a letter advising that I had met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor and that the application was sent to Vienna for further processing.

When I check our application status on the website, all I have is the following:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on January 20, 2015.

2. Medical results have been received.

I also paid the fees in the amount of $1,040 up front, which amount was was already charged on my credit card.

Below are the questions that I would have:

1. Has the application been sent to Vienna? It appears as though the "application received" refers to Mississauga, given the date.

2. What should be the next step in this entire process, and when should we expect to see it happen?

3. How accurate are the timelines posted on the CIC's website? The Vienna Office shows 17 months as waiting time.

4. When is it a good time to contact the Vienna Office to enquire about the application's status?

I would be extremely grateful if I could obtain answers to those questions, and hopefully I can answer some of yours in the future.

Finally, I was wondering whether there is an existing chart for January 2015 applicants and/or Vienna Office chart.

Thank you so much for your help.
