Good day folks,
I am a sponsor on my spouse's application for Permanent Residence (Outbound Applicant) The application in question was received at Missaussaga on Sept 8, 2015 and the appkication is a paper application. My sponsorship application was approved by Missaussaga in November 2016. The IRCC Telephone Update System informs me that, the interview stage was waived. The Medical Certificate for this file is in order. IRCC does not require anymore docs from us. However, IRCC has not initiated the review of my spouse's background check.
I am not overly concerned because:
1. My spouse's application is approximately 17 months (i.e 530 business days) in process, which is the average processing time for Accra.
2. My spouse has a positive background (i.e. Zero Criminality at home and abroad). In addition, she submitted an 'Upfront Police Certificate in September 2015.
3. The 'background review' stage is the final stage of IRCC eligibility evaluation.
4. I have paid the 'Landing Fees'.
Nevertheless, I seek information about this last stage from couples with either similar experiences or in a similar situation. Thanks.
