Hi all,

I was wondering If I can get some] guidance from you folks on some of my concerns. Preparing to apply for PR by this year and as the CEC only demands 1 year experience now [minimum 1440 hours-as per CEC guidelines], the chances have increased, I guess for everyone.

I have a 3 year work permit expiring in April 2015(2012-2015). I have been working as a call center supervisor and Technical associate part time for a company. Call Center main business is fundraising and I handle the basic technical problems arising while managing the shift, I was wondering which NOC category it falls under? Basic responsibilities are :

a) Making sure all computers are working.
b) Monitor the status of the campaigns running and manage the break times etc for the call center staff and helping them with their concerns
c)Handle the time sheets for callers
etc
d) A bit of technical troubleshooting on site, on need basis.

I also worked as a Technical Associate (more pay) for the same company and the responsibilities fall under NOC 2282.

Supervisor Shift Hours: 700
Technical Hours : 400

I changed my job and have been working as a Network Tech (NOC 2281) since last 3 months (approx 550 hours) full time and ongoing

In total I have more than the requirement and I was wondering If I am eligible to apply for PR.

I know my application is a bit complicated as it involves different roles and job codes but please let me know If I am on right path and eligible to apply

Thank you very much for reading, really thank you!

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Regards.

Let's start here... Not sure where you got "1440 hours" but... you need, at a minimum, 52 weeks of full-time employment (defined as at least 30 hours per week), or the equivalent in part-time (less than 30 hours per week) employment.

So, forget about totaling hours, that won't help you. First, you have to count the number of full-time weeks (doesn't matter if that's combining hours of more than one position). Then, if you have any part-time weeks, you need to total the hours and divide by 30 to get the equivalent in full-time weeks. If you have part-time weeks, then by definition it will take longer than 1 year to complete the requirements.

If your hours vary from week to week, you'll have to keep good records.

See p. 6 of the OP 25-A...
www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op25a-eng.pdf‎

Notice in particular the part about "work in excess of 30 hours per week over a shorter period cannot compensate for any shorter overall period of experience."
