Congrats NIKONIKO

Got our visas!

Passports are back! Visas are here!

So very happy! :D

My courier method, in case somebody needs options. I opted for this because some salespersons are not used to prepaid purchases and I don't like explaining to the salesperson why I need them:
  • Go to nearest DHL location, ask for 2 document envelopes and 2 plastic envelope thingies to affix labels with.
  • Return home.
  • Sign for an online account at My DHL https://www.mydhl.dhl.com/.
  • Buy two labels online, pay with credit card. One label is to ship to Mexico City, another one for return. In the "company" field, put your case number. Both will ask for shipping date, on the return one put whatever you want, it doesn't matter.
  • Print labels.
  • Put labels in the plastic thingies, stick them on envelopes (one each).
  • Fold the "return" envelope and insert into the other one
  • Add your own papers (either a folder or a regular envelope with your file number with big letters, a cover letter and documents requested.). Do not close DHL envelope.
  • Wait for DHL to pick up, or go to the location again if you're impatient like me. Say you already have the labels, just need to drop the documents. Show them the inside of the envelope (no need to take things out) and ask if you can seal it.
  • Take a deep breath, hand over your life and future hopes.
  • Go for a beer, or a cupcake or your choice of treat! You deserve it!

Wishing you all a rain of MRs and DMs. Will be around if you need anything.
See you in Canada!

:D OMG charalito, so happy for you. I don't have good news yet :( Which country are you from?

I'm from Mexico.

Cheer up XAZ, your PER is still a recent one. My guess if you'll have news by the end of May at the latest. In the meantime, try to distract yourself, enjoy life and time will fly by ;)

Hello guys, great news, i received my PRs today.... I am very happy!
I intend to send them immediately but the mail says i have 15 days to send everything, and unfortunately i have a business trip already planned for first week of may, and my 15 days are on risk.... Any advice.... Anybody has lived the same or knows what are secure options? What i should do?

Congrats Guate and charalito!

I would recommend to contact the VO, but they will probably reply in a couple of weeks. Is it possible to postpone your trip? It took 1 month exactly to return the passport to charalito.

I think that the expiration date of the visa is generally a year from the date of the medical exams. Charalito may confirm that.

The earlier of the validity of the medical exam or passport expiration date.

The medical results are usually valid for one year from the day you began the medical exam, though they can be extended for an additional year if your application is completed within 15 months of your initial medical exam and the only thing missing to be able to approve your case is the expired medical.

OhCanadiana is correct: either the medical or passport validity, but medical isn't that straightforward...

It is one year after medical exams were finished, but that doesn't necessarily mean the day you went to the doctor. In our case, we went to the doctor 1/30 (a Friday), but the bloodwork and labs still needed to be processed (and Monday was a bank holiday here). VO got the results on 2/6, but the visa says valid until 2/4. My guess is that 2/4 was the day the doctor got ALL the results back and signed the final OK.
