Hello Fellas,
Just wondering if there is anybody who applied for Citizenship in Jan 2014. How long you have to wait so that you can check your status on ECAS??

Another thing that I am really worried about is this new bill that everybody is talking about extending the time period that you spend in Canada before you apply for your citizenship. Does that suppose to mean that its gonna effect Jan 2014 applicants?

You will get the acknowledgement from CIC in the mail along with the discover canada book. Thats when the online ecas is updated. You will get your client id and you can then access it.

I don't think the new bill will change your case. It should apply to those who apply after the bill is passed. This is my opinion.

Hello,

I just sent my application package this morning (27 Jan 2014). I hope the new bill won't jeopardise the processing of our applications (the last minute applicants I suppose who sent their files before the bill is passed).

its only 2 weeks before promised or I would say well advertised 31st March arrives.

Wondering if all people who are backlogged (and that's probably more than 100 000) will pack their stuff and leave the country, would the government think twice next time, allocating their recourse to bring 25 000 refugees?
Is saving people from war (allegedly - because these refugees are in the refugee camps), is giving the right to this government to wage psychological warfare against its residents?
I have nothing against refugees, on contrary, I came to this country cause its values, multiculturalism and what it's stands for.
Didn't know that I would be discriminated this way.
