i think it's clearly stated in the website (http://novascotiaimmigration.com/immigrate/):
Once the 150 nominees are identified, any applications that are not processed will be returned to applicants.
The stream will open again on January 1st, 2015. Anyone whose application was returned is encouraged to re-apply at that time.

everyone has freewill to do the following:
1. get ready to apply for NSNP in Jan 2015 = prepare IELTS, funds, document translation, search more info which city you're interested in, house/apt, job, school, etc etc.
2. forget NSNP and heading to FSW if the cap is not reached yet.
3. get ready Express Entry in Jan 2015.
4. Regret and complain because life is not fair :-[

come on, guys. we can do better for our own future. show canada we are worth it, we also CAN and DO
moving to canada is not a magic spell that can transform our life to be better over night. we still need to struggle there.

If you have made request to other province, let them know. But give them very good reasons why you want NS.

I am afraid the same thing is going happen next year again, whatever small changes are made. What is to stop 1,000 applications on first day??
I think many in for repeat disappointment.

bob2015 - you may be putting too much emphasis on things you can't control. You obviously cannot control when NSOI or other provinces stop receiving application - whether 100, or 1000. You cannot control how apps are processed either. By law, until 2015 applications has to be processed on a first come first served basis (that's the law). You can however use what you know to prepare and effect what you can control....

You can control how early you apply next year. You may want to start preparing now.

I remember I applied for the NS PNP around 8th March this year using EMS, but unfortunately my file reached Sydney on 20th March...
As FSW opened in early May, again I applied for it and it is now under processing.
I suggest that for people whose occupations are on the FSW list, please apply for FSW rather than waiting here. You may end up receiving good news from CIC on your FSW application.

Sorry to hear about your case. However, I would like to commend you for inspite of the decision you were still willing to update the forumers here...

I am not sure if you can advise us if the refusal was a general statement or if they specified which area in your settlement plan they were not satisfied...
