Sometimes they don't change status.. Sometimes it goes from application received directly to RPFR / Passport request, it doesn't mean anything. I think it's because some agents view the change to in process differently and for different stages..

it may be correct but most of the cases Application status changed normally from Received into in process then Decision made.

I know several instances where it was application received directly to decision made - so it's definitely not the rule, I think it all depends on the person who is doing the file.

It is great to hear that from you as i did not see applications like mine ..

Also, i did not hear from them any requests for additional documents ..

Your primary visa office is CPP ottawa not CIO NS right? It seems to be the norm for CPP ottawa to not update to 'in process' from what i've read.

i sent my package to CIO-NS and i got AOR and MR from CIO-NS.

my inquiry on Jan 28 was sent to CPP-Ottawa, and the reply was received from CPP-ottawa also ..

Also, in my application form IMM 0008 i wrote "CPP-O Ottawa" in the field "Immigration office requested for processing this application"

Does it mean that it is my primary visa office?

Yes, that means CPP-ottawa does both the initial and final check of your application; from what i've read CPP-Ottawa seems to take longer to start the initial check than CIO-NS, but once the initial check is done the final check is done soon after..


If you put CIO-NS, they do the initial check and then send to CPP-Ottawa to do final check and PPR. So far I've read this seems to be the faster route, but it's just speculation at this point. I think it's just luck to be honest.

but i got AOR email from CIO-NS and the same for MR ..

yeah; all applications are sent to CIO-NS and CIO-NS always do the MR and AOR, but then CIO-NS send it to the visa processing office you put in the application to do the rest of it.

you mean that CIO-NS do in all cases the check that the package contains all the required documents and considered as complete, then forward it to the Visa office you requested for processing. At which the actual check (Security, criminility, ... etc.) will be done.

I forgot to mention the rest of the process ..

after the visa office finishs the checking, it will forward it to CPP-ottawa for final review, right?

This is what my status says. My application turned in process immoderately after aor. But nothing after that. So don't rely on statuses too much
