Are they really getting these out in 21 days?

I'm looking through the newcomer bank account offers. I think it was RBC that was also offering a home loan in the package.

All the banks have programs for new comers but I don't think without any credit history n employment ... u can get mortgage ....

I didn't get my PR card in 21 days.

my ECASE shows:
1.We received your application for a permanent resident card on June 30, 2014.
2.We started processing your application on July 22, 2014.

I will have employement in Canada, and I have about 7 yrs of clean credit history in USA. DO you think that will work?

I have been told that a US history has no influence on a Canadian credit history. You are starting fresh here.

Based on the train advert I read for RBC, it is worth asking RBC how to qualify when newly landed.

People are reporting that it is a new application indication on the same page as the existing link where "Decision Made" or "Completed" appears. (But not on the page you see when you select "completed," if you know what I mean).

And this new application seems to appear on the ECAS 3+ weeks after landing.

Someone I know who landed before us just received his PR card.

landed: 10 April
Letter requesting new photos: ~10 July
PR card received 29 July.

I also notice that the processing time for new PR cards to existing permanent residents is up to 134 days this week.
New PR cards are at 21 days but I no longer believe this.

Based on the data point above and the PR card processing time for existing permanent residents, I must assume that we are looking at a 3-4 month wait at least.

If I get mine before year end, I'll be happy

Congratulation. Receiving PR Card in 2 month. It is not bad.
