Hi all,
Today I got my PR card. My process is officially over. Thank you everyone, I don't know how I could handle everything without this forum.
I wish you all a fast and smooth process like mine was.

hi guys, it's official (CIC website), we have longer processing times for step 1-Assessment of sponsor and person being sponsored from 6 months it's now 10 months :(, so who is applying right now, the total time for the entire process will be 18 months:((

Maybe yes, maybe no.
According to other topic, CIC showed 11 months for Step1 at last summer. I don't remember it. But I remember that, at around last October, the processing times was changed from 8 months to 7 months, 6 months at the weekly basis. When they updated it on 17th and 25th October 2012, they showed that Step1 took 5-6 months! 5 months is a half of now!!
So, I guess (and I hope) that 10 months is a temporary. If CIC finish processing the huge application of last October, the total time will become short again.

If it's really 10 months, then I should FINALLY be cruising up on AIP. I'm 10 days shy of 10 months right now.

Hi QuebecOkie, not sure if this helps, but I'm a month behind you in the app process and called CIC today for an update - the guy said that I should hear something "soon" given it's been over 8 months.

Soon(tm). At least a "soon" is something, right? Sigh...

I really wanna trust cic agents but its so hard cuz they have lie to me :-( its a love and hate relationship!
I really wish your "soon" to mean "early september" so my "early october" can really be it!!
God bless and good luck

Hey, just wanted to say congratulations to mateo and abcd (and maybe I've missed other people too). Congratulations! And good luck to the rest of us :)

I'm at the "I'll believe it when I see it" stage. I really don't think the representatives who work the phone know much at all. When I called a couple of weeks ago, the guy assured me that the timeline for stage one was 6 months (which we've all known for a while is BS), and that nothing was wrong with my app at this point (despite being three months over what he assured me was the timeline, even as he acknowledged they were working on Oct 8 apps - way to win at math, buddy!).

At least the husband is home for the foreseeable (short-term - the foreseeable future is ALWAYS short-term with the military) future, so life is pretty good right now. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't look like my sis will visit this year. I don't think she can bring herself to leave her son yet (he's almost two, but she's never left him overnight before, nor has she ever traveled internationally). But someday, all of this will be history. In the meantime, I'll keep studying French and taking care of my man. And this winter I'll work on getting better at snowboarding. And I'll cross my fingers like crazy that I can go with my in-laws on their family vacation in late March. But I won't pin my hopes on anything. I'm "luckier" than some, in that loving a member of the military has trained me for this in some ways. The military can yank the rug out from under you at any time, so you have learn to be happy with what you have today, and keep your expectations reasonable and flexible.

As we have all known for a while now, everything is taking longer. Just look at who hasn't got there aip yet, last year everyone got theres quicker than we are seeing now. Final decisons are taking longer also unless the background checks are completed at the same time the AIP is processed.

Friday will be 1 year since they received my appliation.

Hello,

I am new to this forum but it seems like this is the only place where i can get some answers from!

My husband, a Canadian citizen residing in Montreal since the past 13 years, sponsored me (applicant residing in Pakistan).
CIC received my application for Permanent Residence on December 21, 2011.
My husband received his Federal Approval Letter on February 18, 2012 and my CSQ on February 28, 2012.
After this there has been no progress made on my case!! No updates on e-cas and no form of communication from their end.
My file was sent complete with all my forms, educational documents, medical, police certificate, phone records, emails and photographs of the wedding ceremony.
We applied for a Visit visa in november but it was rejected!

Can somebody plz guide me as to how long further we have to wait! My husband is there and I have been waiting here since forever!! I thought it took a shorter time to process applications in Quebec?!! :(

@Icemaiden22

Hello. I have some questions, because I'm a bit confused. Do you live in Quebec? Or do you live in Pakistan now?

If you are in Pakistan now, I think that you guys sent your applications to Mississauga. Your husband's Federal Approval Letter is that he approved as a sponsor. Is it right? If so, I guess your file was transferred to Islamabad office. It takes about 31 months to process for Step 2 at Islamabad office.

In this case, it's better to ask your question again at 'CHC, Islamabad Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2011 -2012'.

If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.

Hi all - quick question!

On the CSQ, which number is the "Certificate Number", the "Numero du dossier" or "Numero de reference individual"?
We're finally sending in the OWP as we'll need the extension for the new year if processing times stay as they are, and I'm confused about which to enter when the form asks for the CAQ certificate number.
Thanks!

@Tomorisu

I'm still living in Pakistan as my immigration process is still pending, husband is living in Montreal. Yes his approval letter means he's been approved as my Sponsor, after that he got my CSQ as well. And when I applied the processing time for Pakistan was 26 months! I can't believe the timeline has been extended to 31 months! Last I checked it was 29 months two months ago! Is this happening because of the strike action? I think its a pretty rotten deal tobe waiting for eighteen months already only to have the timeline extended.
Thanx for replying...I am so disheartened :-(

I believe its the Numero du dossier as the individual reference number is just that a reference.
