Honestly what you need to do is phone the call centre and ask when the last notes were put on the system (each note has a date). I know my last notes was on the 4th March (when I got my AIP), the note just said that everything had been received. Then a few days ago, well after the 4th March, I got a request from a different officer for some info for my personal history.

If you can imagine, the call centre staff are seeing something similar to what we see on cic application status. Although they also have access to the notes written by the officers for your file. (The file records are separate to the notes). In the records the CSQ section could show as passed but the officer may not have written a note which the call centre can see.

(Why the system doesn't automatically create a note I don't know, well it is probably due to security reasons).
Well I called and he told me he has no notes at all about the CSQ but he told me as well that it can take a looooong time to get it, but my deadline is next week (2 months after) I asked the guy if I should sent it but he said "No, it always take time, so just wait" I explained to him about the deadline and well I guess he donest really get how stressful it is to do all this process!!! so he just said "I told you to wait and call back in a few weeks" :( :( :(

They probably have it. Otherwise your only real choices are to either wait as they have it or fax a copy to them or to send a copy in the post. It isn't your job to send them the CSQ.

Your right, they don't really seem to know how stressful it is.

If you requested the notes, you would know for definite if they have your CSQ, there is a section covering the CSQ.

OK that's good, so for you it should just be waiting now. Everything has been received. So now it is when they go back to your file again. Hopefully they now have everything and it is processed normally.

I was thinking about files where something has gone wrong; I read one where they were asked to fax something but they couldn't get the fax number to work and they had no contact details for the officer. For problems like this, there has to be a procedure in place to resolve it, I'd like to know what it is.

For the Final Decision, an officer checks to make everything has been received. As we haven't got our Final Decisions, there is something missing. (The file is listed for the background check at the AOR stage, I added the dates on the Quebec Inland Spreadsheet).

What the officer will do is put a date in the file for it next to be checked. It is usually a month or 2 from the current date. The officer will then check to make sure everything has been received. (By requesting your file records, the date they next check your file would be known). Unless the CIC need to do something, your file just sits waiting for the CSIS background check. Every few months the CIC will check to see if it has been received. For the CSIS background check, the results are downloaded from the CSIS to the CIC.

Yeah yours must be near the end now, it has been a while since you did your AIP. I know if it is over the allocated time, you can get them to check up on it by emailing the CIC.

Also one thing you should definitely do is phone the call centre and ask about your Immigration, Criminality and Security Statuses (There should be a status for each one). That is one thing they can see on their system and they are what you will be waiting to be completed. They will either say In-Progress or Complete.

Honestly the call centre just see a glorified version of the CIC Application Status which we can access, they just have more data displayed to them. They also have the the file notes.

we called CIC today because there is still no AIP.
At first they couldnt tell why, then they found out, that the CSQ came to late. They got it on the 11. March..So they said, we have to wait a couple of weeks to get an answer!!! I am really disappointed

Just got the email from CIC this afternoon, is this AIP or DM letter? The next thing they informed me is: at the time of appointment I need to present the original ID there etc.

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.

We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed.

The Canada Immigration Centre in Montreal will contact you concerning your permanent resident status.

That is Decision Made, congrats. You may have been given your AIP previously or on the same day?

The file now goes to a local Canada Immigration Centre Montreal check to make sure your medical etc is still valid. Then they arrange the landing and provide you with the date.

Btw as far as I'm aware, it is around 2 weeks to 1 month for the landing date.

Thx JG for the confirm. I was really not sure when I got that email, cause I was waiting for AIP, and seems nobody getting news for the last couple week. My husband got an email about the approval of the sponsor, half hour later, I got this email to give me the DM. Seems I'm the lucky one then, AIP and DM at the same day :p

Lots to do tomorrow, I can finally call RAMQ to open the file and send the course application to MICC.

Good luck to everyone on the track list too, soon will be showering AIP and DMs. ;D

I just wanted to update you with some information which may help you.

As you may know by now, I got to speak with the person who is processing my file. A lady named MJ. She called me as she needed more info for my AIP. Well at the time I also asked her if she was doing my Permanent Resident and she said yes. Basically there is a main person doing your file, AIP and Final Decision is done by the same person. The Background checks are done by the CSIS.

When information is requested by the main person processing your file, they assign the document request to another officer. That is the reason why the initials on document requests are different initials to your AIP or Final Decision Letter/Email.

What I'm saying is, if you need to get some information to CPC Vegreville, you can by fax, using the initials listed on your AIP (if you have it). That is the only way you know who is the main person dealing with your file unless you request your GCMS notes (the person is listed in the notes). If anyone needs to know how etc and the fax number, let me know.

The reasons you may want to contact them is give extra info, give the RPRF receipt, or the medical confirmation.

Your welcome.

Ok so your husband got a letter starting with the below paragraph? Which is the AIP.

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met.

Then you got the Decision Made Letter, it has the correct person and address right? I'm just making sure as when I got my AIP. My sponsor got a Decision Made Letter which wasn't even for us. Some guy in Brampton Ontario. Data Protection Much!!! The email should have been the one which advises on being a sponsor. It doesn't affect my application in anyway, the one she should have got is just general information on what a sponsor is required to do.

Your husband is being sponsored or you are being sponsored?

Your husband is being sponsored or you are being sponsored?
My husband is the sponsor, he got the email like the following:

This refers to the Application to sponsor a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in
Canada Class you submitted to this office on behalf of XXX and family (if applicable).

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent
Residence will be processed separately and the applicant will hear from this office shortly.

Then me, as the applicant got this email:

This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law
partner in Canada class.

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.

We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The
Canada Immigration Centre in Montreal will contact you concerning your permanent resident
status.

Yep, I triple checked, the letter is address to me with my name and address correctly put and my UCI number as they stated on the email for CSQ request.

So should be all good, DM it is?
