It just seems very fast for them to have already decided that my application was approved, but this is inconsistent with the manual! Just wondering what you thought. Thanks.

When you applied, did you send the application to CPC Vegreville or CPC Mississauga?

All family class applications now go to Mississauga. I don't know when they changed where you send the application. I think that it must have been sometime before christmas.

I'm just wondering because of the time taken.

We sent it to Vegreville.

Has anyone of you ever received AIP by e-mail?

The reason I'm asking is that CIC has my e-mail address on file, and when I called in the past, the agent told me that we should expect to receive the AOR via e-mail.
This did not happen, we received it via snail mail.

Are you sure they go to Mississauga? At what I think is the appropriate web address (www . cic . gc . ca / english / information / applications / guides / 5289ETOC.asp--sorry for the strange formatting, but I'm not allowed to post links--to make it work, just remove all those spaces), it still says Vegreville. (I'm sorry to be argumentative, I just don't want anyone reading this forum looking for advice to get the wrong idea.)

Actually, Jg is right.

What you posted is related to Applying for permanent residence from within Canada: Spouse or common-law partner in Canada class (IMM 5289)

As far as an Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class, the guide states to mail your fully completed application to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.

The information can be found here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/family.asp

I know, this is very confusing. :'(

It is fine but yeah it is actually now CPC Mississauga. This is the problem with applications, if people come to this forum with their timings but applied to Mississauga, it will be totally different to what we need.

As yours is Vegreville, then yes yours was quick. Looking at the times for peoples timelines, before christmas and after christmas there has definitely been a difference. Shorter time after christmas but that is probably because they aren't being given new applications. They can work on the ones they have.
As I think you know, Chickadee's MICC letter didn't come so some time was lost because of that problem.

I can totally understand why people get confused with doing these applications.

With new applications going to a different CPC has to be good news for us... Once the CPC hit a certain amount of applications, they then change to another CPC. That must have happened with family sponsorships.

If new people join the group, if they applied to CPC Mississauga, the timings maybe completely different. It might not help us.

I asked the same question a while ago, I don't remember who but someone who uses this forum quite often and they said they got the AIP by email.

If you gave an email, they are suppose to send everything by email (chosen option) but as you know the officer doesn't always get things right and people have been sent things by mail instead.

The one good thing about the AIP is, it is suppose to be sent twice. One copy to the sponsor and one to the sponsored person. On the procedure for Quebec from the manual I put the other day on the forum, it says it.

All letters before that are only sent to the sponsor.

Thank you very much for the information! I am hoping for an email, it would be much faster than snail mail! ;)

I am relieved to learn that the AIP will be sent twice; I was concerned that I would miss it, since we suppposedly missed the letter giving us permission to go ahead with MICC the first time they sent it. Although, to be perfectly honest, I do not really believe we missed it; I rather think that the letter was never sent the first time and that they realized it had ben forgotten when I called them. In all 48 years that I lived in Canada, I never heard of a letter getting lost in the mail.

Well, if they send the AIP twice, at least we will get two chances to catch it ::)

This whole process is stressful, doesn't it? Lately, I wake up in the wee hours of the night, thinking about it, and hoping it will all end well, and soon.

I am certainly glad we have the nice people of this forum, who give us some level of comfort and the knowledge that we are not alone.

I wish you a nice Sunday; I have choir practice this afternoon, this is good. It will keep my mind off this topic for a few hours.

If they have your email address, that is how they should send it. I know for me and my sponsor. They have an email address for both of us, so we should get both copies by email. Like you said with 2 copies, you have a much better chance to recieve it.

It sounds like it must be hard for you, I'm not quite as bad as that. I do think about it quite a bit though.

The good thing is, this part isn't suppose to take a long time and with them not sending any new sponsorship applications to Vegreville, that is good news. At least they can concentrate on current applications.

Depending on when they swapped CPC's, they must have started on almost all the applications. I believe applications sent close to Christmas are now getting AOR's in 2 months rather than 3 months.

Thanks, hope you had a good Sunday at choir.

i got my CSQ today!!! Finally!!!!!!!! ;D 8) ;D

Hope everyone is also in a good mood right now!! I am so happy!!
Sending you all lots of sunshine!

Congrats, yes it is!!!

I'm glad to see that as well as our timelines are almost exactly the same. Our applications were sent within a day of one another. They started processing my application 3 days after yours and ours CSQ's were almost identical as well. As long as everything goes ok, mine should be soon to.
