Review of medical results You passed the medical exam. Help
Review of additional documents We need additional documents to process your application. Check your messages below for details. (for this I have already contacted them and they confirmed the receipt on Mar 15)
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes. Help
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. Help
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.


I'm sure it showed "Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check" before

Does it mean I'm stuck in background check which is normally awfully long?? :o :o

They start background check after medical is passed and all other requirements are done. Background check is last stage. Background in progress does not mean that you have to wait 10-12 months. Not every one is unfortunate like me in background check timeline.

Mostly background check completed in 1-3 months, hope for the best. It totally depends on case by case basis but generally in 1-3 month.

I just wanted to know if this change is standard? (means everyone actually go through this step just the length varies case by case?)

Same here as well... For us after medical it's been like forever waiting 9 months now. For what I read in the forum atleast a year of waiting after medical, and be aware remedical will be requested and this is another time money and effort that needs to be done.

They got lucky and depends who is holding The case. They might for an officer who is fast and accurate. What a luck

There is no consistency in Medical request sent within one month. In my case yes i did get medical request last year May and then stuck in background check for almost 11 months and now did re-medical in April 2017.

There are many members on this forum got medical request in 4-6 Months and after the medical they got Passport request within 1-2 Months.

Being an old member of this forum i know 80-90% members have got the PR therefore we don't hear much from other members.

No you don't need US visa for flag poling, just tell at the border that you are flag poling and then return. there is a forum for flag poling, please refer that for more details.
 
Finally got a PPR Today. Long wait of almost 6 years.
