Title : CIC Canada should Fast Track processing of PGP applications.

Lots of applications for PGP before NOV 2011 are still waiting for processing. This is more than 5 years of wait and it is affecting all Canadian families who have applied for it. We have seen few of application parents died while waiting for their application to be processed. It is painful wait we all are going though.

Recently we have seen CIC processing the application from 2014 and onwards. Please process these but make some special backlog team to fast track all the applications which are in backlog for than 5 years.

We feel discrimination when our applications are left behind due new applications processing or another categories (such as economic or refugees) are getting higher processing quota.
We all request to take action or make special team to clear this backlog.

When they ask for passports to be submitted, the only other thing that they ask is the photo? is it 45 mm x 35 mm size? And is it 2 photos per person? Do they ask for anything else?

Ask for two photographs, self addressed envelope from Canada Post ( as my parents are in Canada) and passport

Thank you for this info soonihope. All these years CIC photo measurements were 35 mm x 45 mm. It seems they have updated it to new sizes as of April 1, 2016 as per the link you posted.

Just to double check: is this the photo requirements when you go for landing or is this the photo requirement for photos that need to be submitted together with the passport to the Embassy for visa issuance?

Can anyone please post the e-mail they received for passport request by removing personal info?

This was the photo requirement sent in the passport request email.

The instructions of that email were simple:

1.Send passport if you are from a country that requires visa. if you are from visa exempt country then just a photocopy of passport is needed.

2.Send 2 photo for each person at per the photo specs given

3. send self addressed envelope for return of passport

4. send a copy of email

This was for Ottawa
