We went down to the US border to complete the process of landing this weekend.

My parents completed the final step to becoming permanent residents.

Once again wishing everyone waiting a speedy conclusion to their case.
Over the course of time different batches come and go but the emotions attached with this process remain the same for all.

Hello Forum members,

I need your help regarding my application for my parents. I just received a letter from CIC saying that I am not eligible to sponsor my parents because of the income when I already gotten an email from CIC on Sept 28, 2015 saying that I am eligible as a sponsor for my parents.

The reason the states on the letter was that I should be counting as a 4 persons family instead of 3 persons since my sister was a dependent to my parents while I first applied back 2010. My sister was in Canada studying while I applied for my parent in 2010 and we never intended to include her as part of the sponsorship because she will apply for the immigration herself while she done her study in Canada, and she has become a landed immigrant last month through PNP. My parents immigration application has been forwarded to HK office by CIC after they sent me the approval back in Set 28, 2015. I don't want to affect their ability to come visit me and my sister even on a visitor visa later on, so I am not sure what I can do now. Please anyone give me some suggestion. Many thanks.

Sorry to hear this. Did your sponsorship approval email in Sept 2015 actually say "you have met the eligibility as a sponsor". If it did not then that was not sponsorship approval. If you had ticked the box continue with processing even if you do not meet the criteria they still transfer the file to LVO.

You need to consider if you want to appeal, as this can easily take 2 years or more. Or Consider resubmitting a new application in Jan 2017 as now cases from 2015 are already being processed so that's only 2 years as well.
