I am sponsoring my parents who live in Pakistan and here is the timeline:

Visa office: London, UK
****************************
Status: "Decision Made"

We received your application for permanent residence on May 11, 2010.
We started processing your application on Sept 30, 2015.
Medical results have been received.
****************************

My parents were asked to provide police certificates from country of citizenship (Pakistan) and Canada (they visited Canada), all these certificates were provided and mailed to London office.

1 month after they received police certificates, status changed from "In process" to Decision made". I paid the Permanent resident fee about 1 year ago.

My question is: what is the next step?

1) Would my parents receive an email asking for passports (assuming if it approved)
2) Would they receive something in the mail?
3) How long is the immigrant visa valid for? 6 months or 1 year?

Thank you

Did you have to submit the police certificate from Canada too? If yes, where did you apply it for?

You should be getting Passport request shortly

My Ecas just changed to "decision made" today on a Sunday. I had received my passport request nearly 2 weeks ago.

Seems to me that some LVO's update to "decision made" before PPR and others after PPR email.

Also Ecas does not only update on Tuesday's. I have been checking my Ecas everyday.

;D We have received the visa on Mar 10..

;) Thanks so very much to the forum member. The information provided has been very informative and supportive! good luck everyone!!

i haven't got my approval yet, keeping positive attitude & hopping for the best.

Assuming that i receive approval in next 6 to 12 months time frame, next step would be MEDICAL Test, is that correct?

As parents gets older they are not going to be any good in their health, and this makes me worried, after all this years of wait will my parents sponsorship cancelled due to Medical tests.

can some one help me by letting me know what exactly they are looking for in the MEDICAL TESTS, What are the standard TESTS they would be doing.

with regards

Hi kcdasoju,

BP and Diabetes are not considered medical rejection problems. They look for infectious diseases, HIV, sexually transmitted diseases, TB and other problems like these. Normal age related medical problems are not considered. You should not worry. Your parents should not have problems passing the medical test. :) :)

How long does it take for Visa office (VO) change request completion for a dependant only?
Requested by email (Replied back to the PPR notification email).

Since Principle applicant (PA) is fine with the assigned VO, should the PA proceed with submission of his own passport only for visa as per PPR, while dependant's change of VO is in process?

Hi guys,

I received an unexpected email from Ottawa.

In order to process your application, we require the following documents

1- Passport/Travel document -

2- Police Certificate

Please send us scanned versions of the requested documents. Do not submit originals unless otherwise stated

Is this the PPR request everybody gets? I though we had to mail the original passport?

Any advice?

Thanks

You're correct, unless your parent's have passports which do not require visas to visit Canada then passport has to be sent to Ottawa as per the PPR email.
Also they asked you for police certificates. Did you not send them earlier already if I'm not mistaken.

My parents are here in Canada. We did all the medicals here. So, is this a PPR request? They have asked me to send a scan copy of my parents passport by email. That's strange. I am not sending the original passport.

They asked us to send police clearance from Canada before as my parents were here on visitor visa for 3 years

My PPR email asked for the following:

1. Passport (if visa is required) or passport copy (if no visa required)
2. 2 photos (with new specifications)
3. A self addressed xpresspost envelope
4. Copy of the email.

There was no mention of police certificates.

We got our visas back from Ottawa today. :)

Ottawa take just 2 weeks to issue the visas.

I wish those still waiting in the process the very best and hope all your cases are finalized quickly.
