I got a weird email today. It says my parents are found eligible for the visa. However, admission check is still going on and if they need anything they will contact me. and I should pay the PPR fee. My bad I didn't pay the fee upfront. Well,I am hoping after i pay, i will get the passport request soon.

So did you parents complete submitting the following?
a. Police clearance
b. Medical examination certificates
And can you please share your time line so that we can have an estimate on how long would it take for others

Hi,

My Permanent resident status changed to "decision made" almost 3 weeks back. I still haven't heard from them to submit the passports. How long does it take after Ecas shows " decision made".

Can you please share your time line so that we can have an estimate on how long would it take for others

It's just been so long that we are taking it easy now.

We got the email for PPR request today. I can't say the last 5 years waiting for this day were easy but the relief today when I saw that email in my inbox was unbelievable.

The subject matter for the email was Re: Ready for visa

They need to ask if we're ready.................... ;D
Took us almost 5 years to reach this day but so happy today.

Good luck to all still on this journey. I hope you all get this email soon.

Great news. Congratulations :)

Under ECAS, permanent residence application status also changed to "In Process" now.
Does that mean anything? Can it be that the Colombo office started to look at our file?
It seems too soon to believe.

It means your file has been transferred to the local visa office. You should get a medical request soon

Thank you everyone for your good wishes.
I hope all of you hear similar news soon.

My eCas still says "in process" I have seen from others who had files transferred to Ottawa that eCas changed after a few days. I will inform when it is updated.

My file has been in process since May 2015, and when I ordered gcms notes I saw it said this file has entered active processing and that fees were no longer refundable from the date the file went "in process" last May.

My medical request came in Dec 2015. I also have worked out that for most PPR's from Ottawa it takes between 100-130 days post medicals.

I know that's not true for everyone but a lot of PPR requests fall within that time period following medicals at Ottawa.
Different LVO's have different timelines and procedures. Ottawa rarely asks for further documents while Delhi routinely asks for more documents even after sponsorship approval.

I wish you all well and will continue to try and keep an eye on this forum to see if I can contribute.

Do you think I should contact my local MP or order notes or just wait?

Thanks

I would with your timeline contact your MP. You were the one exception I was thinking about when I said 100-130 days for most people at Ottawa.

You are well over that number of days so I think contacting your MP is justifiable. While gcms notes were useful to see progress, I don't think waiting 30 days to get those are of value to you now. MP intervention would be more productive considering its been about 225 days since your medicals. That's nearly 100 days more than what I have observed for most people at Ottawa post medicals.

Will the medical/PCC request be sent as one letter to the principal applicant or separately to each of the sponsored family members?

The reason why I'm asking this is, in the GCMS notes, the principal applicant's (father) address is correct, but somehow under my mother's name, they still show my parents' old address.

It seems like they didn't update the address for everyone.

Thanks.
