Congratulations jassyjeff...

I was just wondering that how many dependents in ur application? Coz my application is also in New Delhi , finished medical in September with 3 dependents n parents...
Just want to track how long they take with more family members...

Thanks
Hi Aigangat, thankyou, there was only one dependent on the file.

9 days since medical and nothing since then.

No ECAS update, no PPR. Getting impatient.

How else is feeling the same way :-(

What happens after they give the PR visa after PPR ? Do you go to any immigration office to become landed ? I am talking about Parents that are here in Canada already on a visa. Do you need to exit and reenter the country ?

Hi friends,

I am a new member. I found this forum very helpful and thank you for everyone for sharing all your experience which give others chance to compare their process.

I have applied for my parents sponsorship on sep 2010 with 1 dependent.
submit forms and documents step 2014
Submitted additional documents upon cic request feb 2015
Got an email from CIC last week ( nov 2015) static that I am eligible as a sponser and the file transferred to Colombo visa office.

My questions are....
1) in the approval email, they asked to complete upfront medical but the processing time in Colombo itself is 72 months. Why do u think they are asking to do the medical early
2) once the medical is completed, can we email a scanned copy? Or do we have to submit the original?
3) when did you guys submit the police clearance?
4) do you think it will take another 5-6 years to get their PR?

Please help me with these question.

Thank you and good luck everyone.

Yes, they do. They will have to go to exit to the nearest boarder and re-enter into Canada to "land" - hence the term "landed immigrants".

They can if they will but they don't have to. You can contact the Call Centre to request an appointment at a local CIC office to become a permanent resident at that location.

Refer to: Operational Bulletins 076 – September 17, 2008 (expired); although the OB expired, it has an inside link to an updated manual OP 7b – Provincial Nominees where it states the same.

No you don`t need to exit and re-enter. I confired with the Border police and they told me that you can do landing inside Canada at any CIC office. Keep in touch my parents are also in Canada and awaiting PPR.

Thank you for all the info. We can't really leave Canada and would need visa's to all neighbouring countries.. so the ability to go to the office is great.

Thanks again :)

Hi all, just wondering what else my parents need to land other then the COPR and PR visa that they have recieved already. Their flight is next week from india to canada and just want to make sure they have everything for a smooth landing. Thanks in advance.
