Not cic. It was the panel doctor. He asked for additional test as well as referred my dad to a cardiologist who then asked for several test for my dad. The panel doctor said if we don't finish the required test, she will close my dad's medical file.

Well I guess that's just part of the battle, now it's over thankfully!
I am glad that it is all sorted out for you. We are doing our medical in Kitchener.

Just want to share an awesome news, just got PPR (dated June 17).
Also including this message "Your visa(s) for permanent residence to Canada is/are ready to be issued, conditional to a final admissibility review by an immigration officer"

Thank God!!!

Wow! great, great news! Congrats First_Gen! I hope you will still keep us posted once you get the passport back and visa in your hands!
this is very inspiring, indeed! God bless!

my parents and my brother did their medicals last Tuesday, June 16 2015. My mom was asked to see a cardiologist and do some ECG. need to get all done and submit to St. Luke's before on or before January 25. she was also asked to make sure that the medical certificate will be typewritten so the Embassy will be able to read the findings.

Goodluck to all of us!

Regards,
Jing

I got an email from cic stating tht i have meet the sponser requirements
and it says:
Requirement for Medical Examination
If your sponsored relative(s) has (have) not already done so, your relative(s) must provide an original
Upfront Medical Report form (IMM1017B UPFRONT) signed by a Panel Physician or an E-Medical Up
front Medical Notification information sheet. Your relative(s) must complete the medical examination
and, once completed, forward this information directly to the visa office noted above along with a copy
of this letter. Your application has been transferred to the visa office noting this deficiency. Your relative
must forward the medical information directly to the visa office to allow continued processing of his/her
application. Failure to do so will result in delays and possible refusal of your relative's application.

so my family went got medical done
MY question is do they need to send anything to cic or the doctor sends the reports?
and is their any difference in MR and upfront medical req.

thanks

The panel doctor should have given you a medical information sheet which you need to submit to the address stated in the approval letter.

The basic diff with the upfront medical is it is usually done prior to submission of application and submitted with the application. And no form to bring to panel doctor but rather the panel will give you medical info sheet for the applicant to submit directly to the VO. But with my experience, as well as some postings here, upfront medical was also requested in some application during the processing stage when VO didn't issue MR with IMM1017E.

When VO issue the MR with imm1017E then no need to submit anything to the VO after medical exam since the panel doc will submit it.

We are going for upfront medical and want to know if we should also send some updated forms along.

Can you please share your timeline? Also, did CIC ask for additional forms after medical or same time? Do we need to fill the forms for applicant and dependent or just applicant?

Thanks
