Re: ><))))*> LONDON VISA OFFICE - FSW 2009 APPLICANTS** (",)

Hi all,
I have ranother question if i may.
Since our initial application in July my husband and I have changed our names via deed poll.

We are at the stage where we have to send in all our supporting paperwork to london.

Our passports have not yet been changed. So... should i just go ahead and send all paperwork now but include a letter with a copy of the name change 'deed poll' now, before the passports come back with new names?

Or

Just send in all the supporting docs without any changes, and at a later date send a letter with the copy of the new passports?

Thanks for your opinions. BB

Hi guys here is the reply to my 2nd email to C.I.C. London.

Dear Mr Byrne,

Your file is being processed by the London office. At this stage of processing, your file is awaiting review by an immigration officer. Unfortunately, due to high volumes we are unable to give you an estimated time frame.

Sincerely,

Canadian High Commission

Oh well at least I know now for definite it is in process after the scare they gave me from my 1st Email.
It looks like an Immigration Officer does,nt initially review the file or send out the A.O.R, that is probably done by someone else at the Embassy. Then the file is put in process and is reviewed later by the Immigration Officer.

Re: NOTARY ADVICE - LONDON?

hi all...

can anyone advise me on a good and affordable notary? I am in London.

I am getting quotes in at around £200 - one question that came up was do you need the contracts notarised or just the first letter... it seems to add on £10 for every additional document! What have other people done in the past?

thanks anyone!

Hi All I am new in this forum

I applied for permanent residence on August 11, 2008 CIC London through Legal Consultants and received a letter on December 18, 2008 from Nova Scotia. I submitted my full application in third week of April to London Office. When I check my status online it is showing "we started processing on June 9, 2009" so I want to know when I can get my medical paper.

London AOR Dec 23, 2008
FULL DOCS to London Apr 18, 2009
ECAS STAT "IN PROCESS" June 9, 2009 (Review Completed)

Pammi....

I did not include Landing Fee when I submitted my full documents to London but I think you may do that as an option.

Other London Applicants..please share if you did the same thing as Bird2Canada....do not know if that will affect the processing....

Re: ><))))*> LONDON VISA OFFICE - FSW 2009 APPLICANTS** (",)

Hi all
I have not heard the term Landing Fee's before so I looked it up on the CIC website
(http://www.cic.gc.ca/cic-index/english/l.asp)

And it said:
Landing fee
USE: Right of permanent residence fee

I have included this payment as i believed that is what the FSW London Office instructions wanted:
Link - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37023.pdf

The guide says, PG A-5:

Point 13 Fee
Follow these instructions to pay the fees. If you do not, we will return your application. Processing fees are not refundable

Payment a federal skilled worker pay the processing fees to the CIO in
Canadian funds. Fees are payable by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) or to the
"Receiver General for Canada" by:
• certified cheque,
• bank draft, or
• money order.

Do not enclose cash.

Note: Refer to the Payment Instructions in this section for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee

Payment Instructions
Consult the Fees section of our Web site or the Guide for Skilled Worker Applicants to calculate your fees. Use a bank draft to the order of the Receiver General for Canada to pay the full immigration processing fees in Canadian dollars. Do not enclose cash

The website link takes you to:
http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/index.aspx?lang=eng
which is just the London office site so that does not help. Also London office does not accept credit card yet.

Following the menu buttons brings you to the fees page:
http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng

Where it lists the Right Of Permanent Residence Fee as $490 for principal + $490 for spouse or partner etc etc.

It is also stated in the main Canadian application that this fee will be expected when you supply further information link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG75.asp

It clearly states:
and 2. The Right of Permanent Residence Fee, which will be requested by the Visa Office at a later stage if your application is approved.

This is a bit ambiguous. But the letter you receive telling you to send docs does say work with the office:

The Federal Skilled Worker application kit states (page 18), “Consult the Visa Office specific requirements now to determine what documents you will need to provide once your application is recommended for processing at a Visa Office. If you are not prepared to submit full documentation to the Visa Office within 120 days do not apply now. Visa Offices are strictly enforcing the 120 day rule and will not provide extensions.”

now re reading this here i realise there is the term PROCESSING FEE and the term RPRF - the london office is asking for the PROCESSING FEE at first - but this has already been paid to the NOVA SCOTIA office.... and then mentions RPRF so who knows what you are supposed to send! I am starting to think i was wrong in sending the RPRF, but why oh why does the london app ask for the FEES to be included as does the first Nova Scotia application. hmmm i can see why some will send the final payment and some not.

I am going to email the embassy as i am confused!
any other opinions?
BB

Re: ><))))*> LONDON VISA OFFICE - FSW 2009 APPLICANTS** (",)

BB...thanks for sharing! Already encountered this confusion before....

Agree that this is really confusing.......we have option to submit the RPRF or Landing Fee with the full docs (based on the visa specific checklist) but for the manual it specifically mentioned to submit it when the application is already approved (that means you received a request to pay the RPRF plus the medicals).....

as of now....we just need to wait for other London applicants experience on this....
