Anyone who applied under old rules in 2007 from London please share any update? I am so disappointed.

I applied in November 2007 form London. My NOC is 2281. Sent my full documents in March 2010. After that no communication.

Please give me any hope...

Thanks

Hi,
Surprisingly, I also applied in Nov 2007, to be exact, on the 3rd of Nov, 2007 . How come you were able to send in your full documents in March 2010 and we are yet to receive any documents update letter. Infact, I also have the NOC 2281 as one of the/my qualifying NOC's. Weird. I thought nobody from November batch has been requested for documents yet nor received a letter to such effect. What are we dealing with here!!. Man don't get me wrong , nothing against you. Just wondering what kind of people we really are dealing with in London. I thought applications were processed in accordance with a laid down principle, FIFO. The whole thing is really pissing me of now.

Where are you based? Are you in the UK or one of the Arab states.

Hi.

I have made a little mistake in my last post. In fact I applied through a lawyer. My A.O.R date is 24th September 2007. I wrote November by mistake. Sorry for that. I applied on simplified application form.

In November 2009, I received a letter from CHC London through my lawyer requesting to submit full documents in 120 days (That is why November was in my mind). I sent all documents along with my IELTs result before March 01, 2010. I have checked again and I confirm that my NOC is 2281 (Computer Network Technicians).

I have asked my lawyer many times and she says that currently future of old applicants is not very bright because CHC London is focusing on new applicants, I mean after Feb, 2008 applicants.

I used to live in UK from 2006 to Jan 2011 and now I have moved to Denmark.

If fact now it’s not FIFO rather it is LIFO.

What about you. Tell me some detail if you would like to share. Have you appeared in IELTS? Did you write any email to CHC London? What do they say? Are you in UK?

I am 48 now. Moreover the NOC 2281 is not under managerial category. So for me it was a life time chance and I cannot reapply because of age factor. I am very much disappointed. I did every thing I could do but it seems that luck is not in my favour.

Amazing,

It is becoming a group of NOC 2281 as I also applied under it in May 2007 (SMP) and received the First AOR in July 2007. The time-frame given at the time was 42-48 months. Completing 48 months on May 15 (After 25 days to be exact.). I did receive a request for submitting full documents in July 2009 within 120 days. Submitted IELTS, and full documents by September 4 2009. There was a silence for 7 months and in March received Additional Document Request (Original Degree Certificates and Mark Sheets) on March 4. Sent all the documents and then received my Medicals and RPRF request on October 14th 2010, issued on October 4th by CHC (Exactly after 7 months). Since then, I am waiting for PPR. According to CHC London, my case is under background Check stage and they are unable to provide a time-frame for PPR. keep this thread alive as finally I got in touch with someone with a similar NOC 2281.

Hi Guys,
One of my NOCs was 2281 also ;D. My AOR is Sept 2007. Kickboxer, it's most likely that your background checks are currently ongoing. In the second half of 2010 CHC-London initiated security checks for SAP applicants whose Meds were not yet issued but docs were already requested. Why don't you send them an email enquiry regarding your application status and see what they have to say?
I have come accross posts from some other applicants with your timeline who have emailed CHC-London and have received a response that Meds,RPRF and Updated PCC req will be sent later this year (after June 2011).

Dont worry about your ineligible age....many of us (including myself) are ineligible under current rules for various reasons such as age, work experience NOC. Just stay the path...Your PR visa will come excruciatingly slowly but surely.

Hi Guys

Thank you very much for your response.

schwarzeradler did you apply on simplified form? I would suggest you to write an email and ask the status of your application. Can you see online status of your application on CHC website?

I used to check my online status after every 3,4 months and it was always ‘In Process’. (From the day one) but yesterday I was unable to check my status. I entered the same particulars very carefully many times but system does not recognise me. I am very much surprised. Don’t know what should I do?

I am originally from Pakistan, lived in UK for 5 years and now moved to Copenhagen, Denmark on 3 years green card visa. Life is tough here. No jobs and my stay is temporary. It will be very difficult to extend my stay here. The main problem is language. You cannot learn Danish in few months.

What about you? Please reply if you like. Thank you.

abusaf what kind of additional documents they required. Please tell me in detail. Did they ask you to submit work experience certificates again and did they ask what were you doing by that time or they assessed you on your previous work experience you originally submitted and asked to submit only original educational documents? It is good to join four friends with the same NOC 2281. Please let us update with your progress. You have almost done. Good Luck.

ashirale Thank you very much for your kind words. You have made my day bright. What about yourself. Please share with me your experience.

And Guys please continue giving your comments to keep this thread alive.

Thank you so very much.

Yes, I applied when the FSW- SAP rules were in place (NOV2007). Well, I have and will write them again exactly on the day I will set foot into the 42nd Month again. Yes, I can see the online status (just logged-in), which has been the same, "in process", since day 1 i.e the 8th of Nov2007.

I used to check my online status after every 3,4 months and it was always ‘In Process'. (From the day one) but yesterday I was unable to check my status. I entered the same particulars very carefully many times but system does not recognise me. I am very much surprised. Don't know what should I do? - This may be a good sign for you though, as they seem to be doing something on your profile, I guess.

I agree, it is hard to learn Danish within a few months, as it took me years of study in Germany to get fluent (16 years). I now live and work in the UK, and plan to stay here permanently after the 42 months, should no documents request come in after the end of the 42nd Month. I see no reason why I should hold on to my plans any longer than that.
TBH, with the way things are proving to turn out, I an no longer anxious about getting any docs update within the time limit specified in their AOR. I have turned 43 waiting just for a doucments update letter, not to talk of the wait after submitting the documents , which is in fact when the actual processing starts. I am of the opinion and believe that going to Canada at the age of 45, and then starting from the scratch would be detrimental to me, my wife and kids. Hence , I foresee a withdrawal after the period I have specified above. I obviously appreciate the fact that immigration requires patience, however, 4 years is way beyond what I expected. Hence, I will, and have come to terms with this situation too. May2011, is just a few weeks away. Good Luck.

Oh well, I guess this is what we needed while expecting and waiting in vain for an update letter. (see below)

Maybe, I should start to put my farewell post together and start drafting my withdrawal letter. ;D (LOL)

Hi Dear Kickboxer,

I am also from Pakistan and currently based in KSA. The Additional documents that were asked by CHC London were my Original Degree Certificates and Mark sheet and copy of the Permanent Residence card in Saudi Arabia. That's all, I received these documents back with my Medical Request in October 2010. It took them around 7 months to check my docs. I guess we need to wait a bit longer and everything will be fine by the Grace of GOD. Please be in contact.

I am a 2007 applicant (AOR Sept 2007). CHC London asked for updated documents in October 2009. Medicals & RPRF were requested in August 2010. Updated PCC was requested in March 2011. My file is currently awaiting Immigration Officer review.
I live in the Middle East. Waiting (3 years just to qualify and now another 4 years in process) has been painful :( but I hope to receive a PR visa this summer. ;D
I have put off getting married, investing in property, investing in study in a fixed career...all so that the transition and adjustment to Canada would be smoother. But I'm running out of patience now....
I do realise that I am luckier than many other 2007 applicants and am thankful that my application is now in the final stages of processing.

I also applied in July 2007. Got a letter from them stating the 42-48months processing time on 26th July of the same year. Requested documents in August 2009 all of which was sent by November 2009. That is as far as I have gotten with them. I did email them in July 2010 enquiring about my application and was told that my documents were checked back in April of 2010 and my file had since gone to the next stage which was background checks.

As it is now 45 months and still nothing, I decided to email them again over the Easter-break and got a responsetoday not from the London office whom I had originally sent my request, but from Canada (email address.ca) who stated as follows:

CIC is working to closely manage arrivals in Canada, so that we meet, but do not exceed the immigration plan set by Parliament last fall for 2011. Since we have larger inventories of applications than limits within the immigration plan for admissions to Canada, we cannot predict when processing on previous applications will recommence.

Sincerely,
Canadian High Commmission

Hi,

Many 2007 applicants are in the same boat. One of the Nov 2007 received the below mentioned reply from London:

I am a nov 2007 applicant this is the reply i have had from chc london for my email enquiry any clues friends

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your enquiry

For Federal Skilled Worker applicants who applied before February 27, 2008.
We have received enough Federal Skilled Worker applications since February 27, 2008 to reach our immigration levels for the next two years. Because they reflect Canada's current labour market needs, applications under the most recent set of ministerial instructions are processed on a priority basis. Therefore, few Federal Skilled Worker applications received before February 27, 2008 will be processed this year or next.

The exception is the small number of cases where federal skilled worker applicants have already received instructions to undergo their medical examinations. These applicants should receive a final decision within 12 months of completing their medical examination.

The Action Plan for Faster Immigration has helped reduce application backlogs and wait times. Before the Action Plan was introduced, Canada had a backlog of over 640,000 people in the federal skilled worker category waiting as long as six years to be processed. In just three years, we've been able to get more than 300,000 people out of the lineup - that's close to half those who were waiting.

When a Federal Skilled Worker application is due for assessment, our office will send a letter asking the applicant to submit updated information in support of the application. This new information will be reviewed by an immigration officer who will determine if you meet the requirements for immigration.
Please wait until you receive this letter before providing any new information relating to changes in your personal circumstances, additional dependents, new employment, education or new identity documents.

Our office sends immigration decisions and information requests by post or by email to the mailing and email addresses provided in the application. Therefore, it is important that our office be notified immediately of any change of address and contact details.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.
Yours sincerely,
