It depends on the IELTS and/or application date. Read the following document thoroughly (specially section 12.9):
cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf

Yes you are right. But we were filed in 2006 so we are old applicants. I am very worried about it , once you know something please let me know. My initial application form as simplified received in september 2006, but I will sebmit my documents in near future containing my ielts taken on 21 august 2010, so there is a conflict. what does it mean? applications received or results dated after 2008???? my application submitted in 2006 but my ielts taken in 2010 which one can I refer? application or ietls? it quit vague for me

Read the document again. Here is a part of it:
"Note: Visa officers should also assess applications and test reports which pre-date November 28, 2008,
against the above correlation table if it is to the applicants advantage, i.e., resulting in more points for
language proficiency."

dear armintaba ,

Do not worry. I am also 2006 Old applicant ( New Delhi ) . I have also not submitted my IELTS.

Let me clear you that your IELTS secore will be counted on new rules not the OLD one. As in OP6 it is mentioned they will count that gives you more points. so Do not worry.

Ielts

i applied in april 2006, they asked me for an update.. I checked my old papers, my previous exam was done in july 2004..

will it be accepted..
results 7, 7 , 7 , 6.5 reading.. how many points i gain???

thanx

according to the old system you are gonna get 14 points but with the new system you will get 16 points. once you have already submitted your documents such as your IELTS, you dont need to summit it again, however, you just wanna submit your IELTS, it does not get accepted since it has expired. You need to take it again

theone be carefull, as far as i know IELTS are only good for one year, for example, if you applied in April 2006, you can submit an IELTS not older than April 2005 so that it stays valid (since date of IELTS freezes).

I only heard of one exception until now where IELTS older than one year was accepted

Guys please confirm...

BR

Dear friends,

I am new to this website. I am September 2006 applicant. My file was transferred to Warsaw on April 2010.

About IELTS validity, the British Council informed me that it is 2 years.

I have a question: for old applicants (before March 2008), are they gonna be selected according to the new occupation list or according to the one at time of submitting the application?

Regards

Canada immigration system accepts only one year of validity for IELTS. Here is the link for your situation:
cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/faq-simple.asp#Q14

Dear all,

They will accept IELTS score with one year valid only. Also there is nothing to do with New NOC. They will process what ever mentioned in your file.

Thank you for your reply. Hope I will get the UL ASAP.
