2 Year PG Diploma in Business/Finance under SPP or MSc in Finance

Hi, I just joined this forum.
Need urgent help on what course to choose in Finance/Business Administration
My Profile :
B.Com from Mumbai University (N.M. College to be precise) = Sem V 78% Sem VI 76%
12th 80%
10th 91%
Besides, I'll be appearing for my Final CA in May, 2015
I heard from these consultants that Masters/MBA costs like 40-50 Lacs but I checked out some Universities like University of Saskatchewan which have as low tuition as CA$ 4660 p.a. for MSc in Finance
But they keep on telling me to go under SPP for a PG Diploma and I checked the costs to be around CA$ 14,000 for colleges like Humber
Please tell me the difference in Job prospects for both.
Senior members please advise really confused..want to apply ASAP! :-[

Gmat ? wat for ? u need to give GRE is for masters. n u vl get scholarship if ur score is above 325

Gmat is for MBA.

Gmat is accepted. Go ahead. Remember univ admissions happens 6 months in advance minimally and some a year. I hope you are targeting may 2015 or later. Speak.to univ advisor. Dont bother about cllgs, its not for bright students like you.

Yeah, fr both GMAT n GRE u gotta book a slot n give exam.... i think after ur exam, u can fill three universities name where u wanna apply with the score (for GRE this is the rule).....for GMAT make ur engish (vocab) strong...n quatitative too..... PRICETON REVIEW (check out this comapany's book) google it pls,...i think the name is incorrect....n they r the best...... they are international company specialized in GRE n GMAT

By the way, 3-year bachelor degrees aren't accepted in Canada. Theirs is 4 years long.

yup give test by september then.... u vl receive the results after ur exam on the same day i guess (thats wat happened wid my frnds in GRE)...also i too forgot to tell u, 3 yrs bachelors aren't accpted in canada. u need to do 1yr PGD n then apply fr uni

I seriously don't want to stay anymore so what's your suggestion on this..?

Unless you want to waste 8-10 lakhs on a programme which has no credibility back in India , I would recommend completing pgdbm course back in India. However make sure its a regular course and.not through distance.


If you are univ is NAAC A accredited your bachelors is recognised as equal to 4 yrs bachelors in USA and Canada hence you dont have to go through this trouble.

he has done b.com, a three years program not 4...so he has no other option to do a pg diploma fr 1 yr n then apply fr masters

Lucifer read carefully what I have written. I advised him to complete a yr pg in India and than apply for masters in Canada.

Also if his bcom is from NAAC A accredited institution his bcom 3 yrs = 4 yrs North American undergrad degree i.e. he doesnot need additional 1 yr of pg course to qualify for masters.

hi Lucifer and welcome Tushar,
I checked that Mumbai university is NAAC A accredited..@Tushar can you quote a source which says 3 year bachelor's degree from NAAC A accredited university= 4years of US/Canada
also once I take up a Masters program I would definitely want a 3 year work permit so I'm looking at 2 year programs

can you guys suggest some good universities which don't hurt the pocket so badly and have decent reputation
like I searched for U of Saskatchewan MS in Finance which has remarkably low fees... is it any good?
