Hi All

Just wondering if it would be a problem for going on a 2 weeks vacation overseas after submitting an inland PR sponsorship application. A little information: I'm Canadian Citizen and my wife is on Post Graduation Work Permit that expires in 2019, and a VISA that expires in 2019. We both have been residing in Canada for over the past 7 years.

According to this (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=248&top=28) from IRCC, it seems like she is fine to re-enter. I understand that there is no guarantee for entering Canada for a foreigner even with valid permit/visa. But at least I want to make sure that in most cases, there would not be a major problem for me to leave for 2 weeks vacation with an inland application submitted.

Second of all, Are Post Graduation Work Permit holders REQUIRED to work? Is it ok if they remain unemployed?

Much Thanks,
W

Your wife needs to ensure that her work permit is valid and has multiple entry visa. She should also be working (optional). I am in the same circumstance and even traveled for 3 weeks without my partner(Canadian) last month. All what I was asked is where I work and my job title. Checked my work permit and stamped my passport. However, this depends on the boarder agent you meet. Some can ask a lot of questions.
