2 month background check no result

Hello Everyone:

Is it normal to have 2 month background check?
I haven't received pre-arrive service yet. And the background check has been processed for around 2 month already.
Any idea? Thanks

It's not unusual. Background checks can run anywhere from a few weeks to many months. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do but wait.

I have ordered GCMS notes.
Some people start background check before receiving pre-arrive letter, but some people received pre-arrive letter first then start background check.
Is there any thing causing the difference?

So start background check means nothing? Nothing related to whether the relationship is genuine or not?

It means that there were no absolutely immediate concerns to whether or not the relationship was genuine. However, the background check is where they may find things that give them some concerns.

So according to your comment, if they didn't find any concerns on background check that means the case will be approved on a highly chance right?

Background check is just another step in the process that everyone of us goes through. It's not related wether they have doubts about a relationship or not. Two months is no unusual, there are many factors and agencies that affects the length of it.

The best is to contact them through a webform,(only if you have crossed the 12 month mark). Or try calling them and see what they can tell you about the status of your application. As well as ECAS and the CIC account.

Thanks David. I just ordered the GCMS notes. Cause most of people in my sponsorship group said they won't process the background check until they think your relationship is genuine. Just ask here to confirm. Thanks again.

Our background check took 8 months. I suggest you not set any expectations for next steps as the anticipation will really get to you
