2 Ghost updates - what do they mean?

Applied for citizenship end of August, received AOR in a week and in the first week of December I received 2 updates few days apart.

The first update is when it changed to in progress and the second update nothing changed. Also ECAS change to in process with the first update.

Like most people here when they get the first update its background complete or with 2 updates its may be FP request but none of those things happened

Just wanted to get an feedback on what it may mean?

Isn't one of those supposed to happen right at the time of the update? This is what I am trying to understand

Searched the forum for what 2 ghost updates may mean and didn't find much

Usually two ghost updates are followed by a Fingerprint Request. Check my signature, it has the timeline on when I got the FP request.

i had two ghost updates before... but no FB request but my security check took like a year to complete

Nope. Had another update for Dec 16th but that's probably the update everyone had

That's exactly my concern.. because I am thinking is it security screening situation

I think whenever they update their system, it makes these ghost updates. Just to give us false hopes.. Sept 2020 applications!

Hi everyone, so nothing has progressed

Called IRCC and they said my security was done but criminality is in progress..

I am not sure what this means as usually the background check is completed right away all at once

Anyone else in the same boat? Any personal experiences to share?
