2 courses of 8 months

Can someone plz tell me for how much time period will I get a work permit if I do 2 courses of 8 months(1 academic yr)?
I’m very confused.

If I do 8 months study in a year u will get 1 years work permit .if u do 2 years course total 16 months than u get 3 years work permit
